3:05 - Reuters, Special Report: Why Ukraine spurned the EU and embraced Russia (December 19th 2013). The Maidan massacre was carried out by snipers stationed in the far-right ultranationalist occupied Hotel Ukraina and not by Ukraine's Berkut special police force or other law enforcement agencies, according to a Kiev court verdict handed down on the 18th of October, 2023. Right-Sector and Svoboda played a key role in the violence. Right-Sector claimed to have coordinated the Odessa Trade Unions Building massacre. Commander-in-chief Zaluzhnyi hired the former leader of Right-Sector, Dmytro Yarosh, in 2021.
