Even if it's explained entirely at an 8th-grade Wikipedia level, and ignores what should be scarred in everyone's memory. Ukraine had a VIOLENT COUP by an illegal dual-citizen Junta that immediately looted all of the Ukraine Treasury bullion! It would be as if Biden-Harris had seized power in 2020, and shipped Fort Knox to Bank of London, then a 'nice Indian person' wrote a narrative about the North vers. the South, and the way Liberals dress compared to Deplorables. We won't survive as a species with this Wiki retelling of history in world maps and ethnic costumes. This is the 3rd Millennium now, and the 3rd Temple now lies in Brussels. New Masters and New Dialectics. It would be the same as if a 'nice American person', explained Modi the Looter and his Fascist BJP party brutal crackdown on the Women's Committee and the unrepresented migrant workers rioting in Uttar Pradesh, by showing a British Raj map of Hindustan and a bunch of 20thC photos of ethnic jodhpur costumery between Hindus and Punjabis. It would be an intellectual slap in the face to 800,000,000 Indian women and poor Untouchables. *But that's exactly what this 'nice Indian guy' is doing with his Ukraine-Russia potted 2nd Millenial history channel.*

Maybe the US news media is offering eighth grade level analyses but that's the only way most US citizens will understand. But... if you're buying this guy's analysis then you're no better equipped to understand the situation than those news media outlets are offering. The most accurate part of this analysis, other than the basic facts, is Europe's position of putting it's finances as the higher priority. I'll give you a simple analysis of this situation. This is about Putin's ego and his desire to restore the Soviet Union to it's former glory. Will he invade? Who knows. If he thinks he can do it w/o facing strong consequences from the West, the chances are that he will. The mercs who were staged have been deployed, so he's certainly ready to do it.

Good job! However you have omitted the spicey details of how the Janukowich Regime change happened. Also, the separatist feelings were not instigated by Putin but there were strong Euromaidan tensions, including use of the Ukrainian military inside Ukraine against pro Russian forces, with part of the military deserting and changing sides. I do recommend Oliver Stones' documentaries "Ukraine on fire" and the followup "Revealing Ukraine", also on youtube

You are offering most important information and speaking perfect English. From ur past video regarding the east--west sea routes as well as 53% of Artic ocean coast is controlled by Russian land mass and controls surface area out 200 meters from the coast. This more efficient route put Russia in a pivotal role that requires only accepting reality and maintaining those resources for the long term. It seems clear to me that NATO/US feels no doubt that only they are capable to create the infrastructure and tap the wealth of these resources to gleen absolute world power and control They have long determined how ridding Russia from their resources--which "should have been their own?"--solves all their problems they have stored for decades. Even their ability to enslave China and India--no matter their technical advances. As long as they dictate distribution of goods, they just sit back and let the planet keep making energy to start the world's engine. Wow. You turned on a bright light 💡 for me today. THANK YOU

What I mean is that if/when the US gets involved you have some who say they shouldn't, some who say it took too long and some who say they acted correctly. In more recent times, it seems no matter the coarse they decided to take a lot of people are up in arms about it. I feel for the peopes of Ukraine and pray they are victories. @@oceanloverforever8233 If you did some research before commentating you would understand that NS2 was the brainchild of Germany who made the origional proposition to Russia to build NS2. Most of the investors are German! US crooked senator Ted Cruz has been pushing for it to be stopped for more than 2 years now so that he can have LNG shipped from Texas to Europe and he will get more votes from his constitutents for doing so and maybe run for POTUS even! barf!! The existing pipes going through Ukraine are not enough to supply all of Western Europe and besides depending on them leaves all of Europe at the mercy of this most unstable republic. Russia have just struck a much bigger deal with China to supply them with same piped gas, so Germany and Europe are the big losers and not Russia if NS2 gets cancelled which ain't gonna happen because Germany won't allow it to be cancelled. Corrupt USA are going to have to suck this one up also!

you needed not put "clueless" as an adjective when you are using the adjective "American", because it's grammatically wrong to say "stupid stupid here.."

Imagine you live in Texas and your federal government and military attacks and kills you and your people. Would you like to get out of such federation? Basically what happens in Luhanks and Donetsk. They peacefully want to have things governed on their own, but the ukrainian violent fascist government does not let that happen.

@@himanshubishnoi9708 actually you sound stupid. We "clueless" Americans actually helped develop and innovated most of the tech that this world use. So how about you guys stop coming to our country and universities and learn and innovate on your own since that's how you feel about Americans.

Thank you, Mr. Sengupta. This was a VERY well done video, and I now understand the whole issue much better. I'd heard that Ukraine "used to be " part of Russia, but didn't know that the separation was that recent. Add in the territories with people who identify with "the other side" , and it becomes easier to understand the complexity of the situtation. BTW, I teach at an international school here in Thailand, and I recently took a class through India's ancient history, including the Mauryan, Gupta, and Chola Dynasties, so your name caught my eye. Cheers!

Wow, did you lived on Mars? Ever heard of the collapse of the URSS? Ever heard of the Polish Lithuanaian Commonwealth and how a secret agreement between Germany Austria and Russia agreed to split up their territory in the late XIX century? Ucraina never stood a chance to be indipendent from Russia, like Finland did, but it never was Russia.
