Day by day, tens of thousands of Ukrainians flee the war. Critics of the Kremlin are leaving Russia, as well. They oppose President Vladimir Putin's war of aggression and are suffering the consequences of a clampdown on freedom of expression. Berlin has become a gathering point for Russians who oppose invasion of Ukraine.
Civil rights activist Olga Romanova was born in Russia. In 2017, she fled to Berlin because she no longer felt safe in her own country. Now, she’s doing whatever she can to help the thousands of Ukrainians and Russians arriving daily in Germany’s capital. One of them is Lev Vladov, from Chelyabinsk, east of the Ural Mountains. He criticized Russia's invasion of Ukraine on his blog and now fears for his life.

Technically the reality which western people doesn't know is that all those Russians are lieing to easily gain visas so easily. Remember that some companies closed in Russia so those citizens needs to follow those companies to still be employed by those high paying companies, where they will still be receiving high wages as a proof for that you will see that 97% of those fleeing are ITs and other mechanical technicians. So to make this understandable, I will give you an example. Here in Africa most of us when we want to easily get Visas to USA or Canada for better life we make up lies that we are gays or lesbians and that we are being abused by our governments by that we are easily given visas and jobs when we reach USA or Canada. So those Russians are geniuses to technically act as opposing to their regime so that they win high paying jobs abroad.

These are just shy little ones, who are detained by special forces without any problems and resistance, they do not help each other, they only have time to shout “no war” a couple of times, after which they are neutralized. The real patriots and heroes are the Freedom of Russia Legion, they help Ukrainians in real battles and save their own and foreign countries from Putin's infection.

Russian and Ukrainian war is still continuing giving lot of hardship to both the countries and the world is awaiting an end to the on going war as the civilized society is longing to get rid off hardship. In view of the above people of any country should go along with the respective country in the days of crisis and not find fault with individuals.

Umm I don’t think so. This woman could be a kremlin spy looking for family members that are fighting Russia in Ukraine and turning their locations in. And if she is so great why did she flee Russia to avoid sanctions. This is all because of Russia, she is pulling in Russians that even the documentary said some still supported Putin. They are taking away resources from actual Ukrainian refugees. She and those fleeing Russia need to stand against their neighbors, relatives and friends and countrymen that are doing this in Russia, Not hiding and possibly giving away intelligence to the kremlin. If she is great, what if some Russians threaten her for info, her face is out there, what is she going to do? Be silent or sing like a canary, we already know she runs from a possible prison sentence.

"Because of one person" Sorry but that simple comment informs anybody reading your post that you have absolutely no idea of the history of or current situation in the Ukraine except for what the msm (and I include censored you tube in that grouping) tells you to have. It's so basic that you should be embarrassed, the vast majority of Russians support Putin in his endeavour. Zelensky has banned 11 opposition political parties and has total control of the press, there are many videos of Ukrainian thugs tying Ukrainian citizens to lampposts and whipping them but you tube takes down content that contradicts the official narrative so people like you remain ignorant. Do yourself a favour all of you get off you tube and go to Brand new tube, our tube, odysee, rumble etc anywhere that doesn't censor and twist truth. In war the first casualty is truth.

The people that didn't go in or even attempt to were protesters, however misguided. The people that did go in did so with the intention of disrupting, if not altering or outright stopping a regularly and well known scheduled event in the post election change of power of the govmt. AKA an attempted coup d'etat - not a protest. Putin's elections are an outright sham - he kills or disappears true opposition and leaves only token opposition candidates in their place to give the elections a bare minimum of legitimacy, but in truth there is none at all. Putin deals with Russian puppet state elections like Belarus in the same fashion - exactly as it will be done in Ukraine if Putin manages to win an outright surrender from them by shelling their cities to the foundations.

Do you think Russia would look on and not try to hold the country together? How many non-Russian Ukrainians were killed by separatists and Russian mercenaries in the Donbass region? How many non-Russian Ukrainians have been driven from their homes in the Donbass region by separatists and Russian mercenaries? @@natureblank1401 Nooo, Russia does not kill women and children in Ukraine. Are you blind? You should stop consuming Russian state media. Russia is deliberately killing and expelling the remaining population, mainly women, children and the elderly, from the cities in order to create deserted, completely destroyed corridors for the troop advance. This is a murderous Russian tactic, as they have done before in Chechnya and other former Soviet republics, as well as in Syria. We don't need so-called Western propaganda, we now have over 3 million refugees from Ukraine in Europe, each of whom can attest to the brutality with which Russia is acting. And believe me, after this war there will be no more pro-Russian Ukrainians, not even Ukrainians with Russian roots. The correct figure for the percentage of the earth’s land mass which is actually occupied by humans is .03%. This includes the land occupied by cities, towns, and commercial enterprises. So this means that out of 1000 units of land, we occupy three. We have made an awful mess here considering we only occupy .03% of the total land mass... if this isn't a good enough reason to rethink our strategy nothing will ever be...
@mnomadvfx

Occupying more area is not the answer though. Occupying more volume is the answer. People disdain living in apartment blocks, but they are a vastly more efficient means of residential housing than building 1-2 story homes for individual families just so that they can crow about having space, a nice view and maybe a garden. The same goes for farming - we need to move away from building out and start building up so that the natural world can start to recover from our expansion.
@chrislecky710

@@mnomadvfx You seem to have a good understanding of the correct considerations and complications, its nice to hear...Increasing our presence in volume rather than area is a away forward as long as we have the vision to do the idea justice... Apartment blocks are a solution but they're also a solution that needs to be evolved. The long term goal is to reduce our impact on natural environments and biomes but to do so effectively we must create isolated environments fully conducive to HUMAN life and wellbeing not just blocks of high rise flats ,and apartments,, that is a totally different design brief and will take us to totally rethink our entire approach. .Building larger versions of what already exist is not the answer... so we must continue searching for the correct questions to ask for now until a clearer picture emerges...

I hope she is right. The Russian people deserve to live in peace at long last. Their history is one of great suffering from within their country and from outside their borders. My own personal experience with Russians has always been positive. They are kind, generous and gregarious, not to mention highly intelligent and fun-loving. Some of my teachers were Russian (and Ukrainian), I only have the greatest respect for them both. It is not the Russian people of whom we need to be cautious, it is the power crazed few at the top lead by Mr. Putin, whom we must oppose in our minds and hearts. Wonderful people like this woman prove we are more alike than we know. PS: Her remark, that Putin has divided (her) country, rang a very loud bell in my head. It immediately reminded me of our own experience with Trump. Our country has also been divided. These two egotists got along like Tweedle Dee and Tweedle Dum. I wonder who is copying whom? And, whose "playbook" is the source of all this division. Trump wanted to bring this country back to the 1950's, he waged a "war" against our neighbors to the south, built this ridiculous "Wall" and sent love letters to Kim Jung Un. He took Putin's side in Helsinki. Now we can clearly see some "Trumpianesque" qualities being employed by Mr. Putin, internal strife, repression and division and external attacks to prove what a "Good Boy" he is. God help us if we are heading back to the days of "Fearless Leader".
