Liking you guys, keep up the good work! It's nice to see someone make mistakes and learn from it rather than just turning out beer exactly as intended

I just stumbled on your channel today and I happen to have a Russian Imperial Stout in my kegerator. I just started drinking it a week ago (2nd week of December) and it has been in the keg conditioning since July. Mine was supposed to be 11+% ABV and ended up about 9.5%. The recipe I used comes from beer historian Ron Pattinson and he lifted the recipe from the Barclay Perkins brew logs from 1848. It is absolutely delicious!

That sounds wonderful. That style of beer seems to get better and better with age.

I'd like to make this in my anvil foundry but even a 5 gallon batch would exceed the max grain. Maybe replace some of the base malt with sugar to keep the fermentables up?

That should work.

Eh. Too bad there's imperial units and "gravity" in the video description. On this side of the pond we do our measurements in metric and liquid Blg rather than "gravity". :(
