US intelligence discovered earlier this year that the russian government planned to assassinate the chief executive of a powerful German arms manufacturer Rheinmetall that has been producing artillery shells and military vehicles for Ukraine, according to five US and western officials familiar with the episode. The plot was one of a series of russian plans to assassinate defense industry executives across Europe who were supporting Ukraine’s war effort, these sources said.

Not really, the US and other countries have sent Ukraine shells that are nearing their "Best Before Date" (BBD). There is nothing wrong with these shells though. If the SMO was not on going, those BBD shells would be part of a live fire exercise as a way to safely get rid of them. The US, Germany, Norway and a few others have had to expand their production capacity to replace the shells donated, restock their own supplies and provide shells to Ukraine.

I do see that on the American left. Not all of them but some of them. Russian disinformation penetration into organized groups on the left and right is quite extensive. Obama didn’t take the U S to war in 2014 , partially because the American military have many non whites , who use the military to escape poverty and get an education. So he really wanted to pull back from wars of the U S. Black men were heavily counted amongst U S military deaths. But I am also an anti war person. Totally correct Anna... in times of peace we have the luxury of pursuing peaceful interests, however, when evil makes its intentions so obvious we need to evolve. Anna could even become an English teacher in an English speaking country. At one school we had an English teacher I always assumed was Czechoslovakian mainly because of the 1968 Soviet troops threat forcing an exodus from Czechoslovakia . But she might equally have been Ukrainian. Two years later it was a Polish teacher of English at a different school and he just loved English wordplay .

Ha! I was the same way. I grew up in the 1970's, but my sympathies were always with the 1960's anti-war (Vietnam) movement. That war destroyed my cousin, who became an alcoholic before he vanished completely. But now we are visited again by Hitler and my viewpoint has changed, at least in this set of circumstances.
