I used to hate sours but, then I went up north and waited 8 hours in line for the release of Pliny the Younger at Russian River. Got plenty of younger and also tried Consecration. It totally turned my opinion around, I love sours now. I would have to say, due to this, Consecration is my favorite sour.

Oh my! What about treat! What a super complex beer. Had some last year, different batch. AMAZING! The folks over at RRB really know their stuff.

My brother picked up a bottle of this for me last time he was in San Diego, but I haven't tried it yet. Looking forward to it, though, as I just loved Supplication.

Definitely the best 'TION' beer I can get on a regular basis.

I got a bottle of that from Ryan in a trade. so far it's been my favorite o the ones he's sent me. I've got one more RR and a Lost Abbey left.

The only commercial sour beer I've had the pleasure to try is Duchesse, but I make a pretty mean Flanders Red myself. I also have a homebrew Berliner Weisse, and an experimental sour smoked wheat and rye (with cranberries!) beer that are both bottle aging now.

This one is my favorite of their sours aside from maybe Beatification. Also, batch 7 was bottled 10/21/2011. For their bottle logs, you can go to their site and it'll be listed under the "Brews" tab. This beer really, really starts to develop more and more oakiness and sourness as it ages. If you have another bottle, you should hang on to it for a few years.

I would have to go with Cuvee de Tomme. I only had it once at Beer Revolution during SF beer week but it really blew me away. Not the most sour wild ale, but in terms of uniqueness and drinkability at 11 percent its defiantly up there for me.

This and Supplication are my favorites in this series. Still have never tried Red Poppy, I was actually at their brewery a few months ago but missed the release by 2 weeks, DOH!

Batch 7 was bottled in October of 2011, in case anyone was wondering.

This is one of my favorite Sours without question. I haven't had all of the RR Sours, but this is my favorite out of the ones that I have had. Just drank Collage from Deschutes & HOTD, and it definitely has Sour characteristics as well (from the Dissident and wine barrels I assume). Cheers man!

While Pliny is still my fave from RR, this is right up there. I was recently at the brewery and tried a bottle of the much-hyped BEATIFICATION, which cost $14/bottle. I thought it was good but nothing special, and not nearly as good as the CONSECRATION on tap I had after that.

Yeah this is my favorite ation beer from Russian River. Most of their ation beers were kind of disappointing to me though because of the hype. Good review!

Where can I get RR beers on the east coast besides Philly? Anyone? In Ohio by the way.
@MarshallSnare10 жыл бұрын
Philly is the only city outside of CA and CO that gets RR.

This one was my least favorite of all RR's "ation" beers. I couldn't get past the oak. I love drinking wood water as much as the next guy, but thought it was too overpowering and couldn't appreciate the rest of the beer. Keep exploring Chris!
