@@DecievedREALITY999 If you take into account the cost of food, fuel, transport and utilities, then the standard of living is about the same, but if you receive medical care, then Russia comes out ahead. In the United States, people pay a lot of money for medical care, even if the disease is not serious. Here in Russia, free medicine is at a fairly high level, but even if you go to a private clinic, it will cost ten times cheaper than in the United States.
@DecievedREALITY99911 күн бұрын
@@calvincandie3625 It’s true that medical costs in the U.S. are notoriously high, but comparing Russia’s “free” healthcare system to the U.S. ignores the fact that healthcare quality and accessibility can vary dramatically. While you might pay less for treatment in Russia, many essential medicines and advanced treatments are simply not as available, and the healthcare infrastructure can be far from ideal. Plus, if Russia’s healthcare system is so superior, why do many Russians still seek treatment abroad? Just because something is “cheaper” doesn’t necessarily mean it’s better

One thing must be understood: the majority of Russian residents live in their own homes. In Russia, this is about 80% of the population. (In Germany, for example, this figure is about 40%), Many have received ownership of apartments for free, according to the Law on Privatization of July 4, 1991. Therefore, the question of housing by type is: where to live? many Russians don't have an acute problem. Of course, there is always a need to improve your living conditions, move to more spacious housing or change your city. There are many options for purchasing housing: loans, mortgages, equity participation, maternity capital. Wealthy entrepreneurs from different cities of Russia often want to live closer to the capital, which is why prices for buying and renting housing in these areas are so expensive (by Russian standards). There are areas that are quite decent for living, but not very popular. And there, you could buy rural scrap for $5,000. My friends bought one. Not fancy, of course, but quite habitable. Well, in new buildings and prestigious areas, prices may not be small. The cost of buying a home and the amount of rent in Russia may vary by 8-10! times. Therefore, you need to compare more or less comparable parameters, and not the way some people do it here. Compare a villa in Miami with a wigwam on a Minnesota reservation))

Finally something more typical for Moscow region... not those bloody hotel rooms that pose as flats. Quite typical mid budget furnishing for urban Russia. Considering kids, majority of furniture would be replaced in like a decade anyway, well outside of lobby/kitchen areas probably. Although non separated toilet from bathroom is a nightmare, well at least for any family with kids. People tend to avoid those if possible in Russia, hence the second bathroom. It is rarely treated as a guest bathroom even if there are 2 in a flat.

This apartment seems to be an upgrade to the standard. Only because you asked: 1. Small bathroom called 2nd bath or 1/2 bath, but a guest bath would not have kitty litter or washing machine. 2. Bedroom generally called Master bedroom or Main bedroom but there are a lot of different names depending upon what part of USA you live. A Master bedroom generally has its own integrated bathroom. 3. Kitchen is large and cupboards well designed. However, it generally is not appreciated the drawer contents are shown to visitors (us). But you can point out built in trash, small appliance cubbies, special corner racks, soap and hot water dispensers but not where it is connected under counter. 4. The "bench" is generally something in a workshop. In kitchens we refer to the top as a 'counter'. 5. USA is not on the metric system. Good to also say what square footage is. I think they have spent considerable money to customize this apartment for their family. Although your summary at the end, would lead me to consider these built-ins were part of the original occupation arrangement.??? To rent an apartment of this size in Toronto, Canada would be approximately $3,500 - $4,500 furnished US$ per month. Sale price around $2.5 million US$ unfurnished. Thanks Russell. Great to see how people in other countries live.

I think this family planned their layout wisely. The daughters have nice large bedrooms. The hallway TV room is perfect for its purpose. Rather than wasting space in large, mostly unused family rooms, they built a huge kitchen, rarely seen in Russia. Large kitchens are typical here in the USA, so I'm glad to see the idea catching on in Russia, too. By comparison, I have a 2-room 76 square meter apartment in a mid-size Wisconsin city. It's in a very old building, and it costs $930 a month, which is lower than average for such a flat in this town. The finishes and appliances are very much inferior to this Russian apartment, and of course, I do not have glorious Moscow at my disposal, either. Instead, I'd have to drive 90 minutes to Milwaukee, which is not on the level of Moscow though it does have its good points. So please, Russell, more family apartments!

Okay, now this is my kind of apartment. The only thing I would change is for the kitchen and living room to be flow-through, no walls separating them, to make it feel more open and bigger. I don't know if those walls are load bearing or not. But, it is a good apartment. One I would definitely consider renting or buying. Looks like the prices are much more affordable than in Moscow. Now I know why you want to live in Aprelevka.

Wow! That apartment is 20 square meters bigger than my 3 bedroom. I'm in central Alberta, Canada and I pay 2050$ per month, and it keeps going up every year. Im in a city of about 100000. If i was in Edmonton or Calgary i would probably pay around 3000$

Hey Russel Could you make a video explaining the process to buy a house / apartment. How much a downpayment you need, interest rates, income you need to have etc
@TravellingwithRussell11 күн бұрын
Talking about people's income is nearly impossible in Russia. No two people earn the same amount. Even for the family who live in this place. They bought it well before the building even started construction. I will try and address some of the questions about buying somewhere in future videos.

@@TravellingwithRussell This is necessary in the bank and the developer's company to ask such things. The bank will tell you about the financial part, and the developer company will tell you about the purchase of ready-made or at the level of the beginning of construction of housing. Make this video like this.Go to Sber Bank talk about how to buy a home from them, then ask your wife she will find you a developer company(basically any well-known one) and ask her too how you can buy an apartment and the requirements for buying.

That apartment is amazing. I love it. In the US that could easily rent for triple the price! I love the cabinets. Compare to the U S Russia is far more advanced in the transportation, multi living building with stores within walking distance of the home. If I weren't so old I would move to Russia. The countryside is beautiful. Thank you for sharing. Love your channel.

Happy New Year! Really enjoy your channel. This, for me, is nicest apartment you have shared. And I would assume, price increases closer to center of Moscow. This apartment- very smartly designed. Love kitchen and all 3 bedrooms very well done..Thank you and family for sharing…Also, for location purchase does the local school reputation play a role in where to buy as it does in the US?

The water, electricity for this apartment would be about $75 per month. That covers the heating as well. As that's only seasonal.

Тем более что и заявленная цена аренды в области радует, в отличие от наших московских расценок за жилье такой площади. Интересно, сколько в среднем платеж по ЕПД и счет за электричество получается в этой квартире?
