It's funny, some people call men who prefer "traditional" type women old fashioned (good) or sexist (bad). I'll be honest, I like the idea of being old fashioned, paying the way, opening doors for the girl, taking care of my wife. I think that old fashioned idea is the big attraction to Russian and Eastern European women; that, and the reputation of Russian womens' beauty. On the topic of being a patchabuchik, here in the US we have a name for that too, but I don't think it is appropriate. for short, you can also just call it being "whipped." The another bad word which goes in front of whipped, but I won't say it. Eli is awesome and I've been subscribed to her for a long time now. I love her videos and learning about Russia, people and places not talked about very much.

I'm from America and as far as open relationships or otherwise known as friends with benefits while playing the field for other part-time lovers. I have Never, Ever, witnessed this to work out. You are right, and it's good that you discovered it early. French philosopher Luc de Clapiers, marquis de Vauvenargues said in the first half of 18th century: a man and a woman can be great friends in case if they have a fraction of physical dislike towards each other. I think these words are true even now. We don't stay friends with someone towards whom we have a strong desire and attraction. We love our friends, but it's not the romantic and passionate love we may feel towards someone who is more than a friend. There is never any passion between friends.

Interesting video, and to be honest, it was kind of what I thought about men and women in Russia. I've been there several times, and I have wonderful friends in Russia. Both of you, thank you so much for sharing this honest and interesting video. I like to learn as much as I could about Russian and of course the wonderful people living there. And I have to share a memory with you.. I was kind of shocked on one of my many visits to Moscow. I was riding a Trolley bus from Semenovskaya metro station to Sokolniki park. When I entered the bus, a young lady gave me her seat, and I thouht she was about to leave on the next stop, but she didn't! She were still standing there for several stops, and I did realise that she was really so nice and polite to offer her seat to an elder Norwegian man :-) This kind of thing, seldom happens in Norway. Russian girls are beatiful also from inside :-) Thank you so much again for sharing this video :-)

In my parent's era of dating and marrying, in the U.S. up through the 1970s, male and female roles were similar to how you two say it is in Russia. In the past a man dating or a husband who let his girlfriend or wife boss him around all the time was referred to as "hen pecked". These days, guy is called a "simp".

Thank you Eli and Zangieff for this interesting video 😎. Well, generally spoken it just goes to show, and it was clear from the beginning to me, not much of a difference to what things are here. There is a saying here that "whereever you go, the grass is green ...". Certain aspects may vary in nuances here and nuances there or can simply be broken down to the individuals concerned 😉. What could have been interesting to know is how if things in Russia have changed over the last let's say 30 years if it comes to "more traditional roles of behavoiur" people find themselves in. Here in the western world many people would say this has happend compared to what it was like with earlier generations ... Speaking from my own experience I have been chased for some time by partners from the opposite sex, one being from a local background and the other from a Russian emigrant background resulting in not having married either but still being in a very friendly relationship just as friends over years 🤣. I have to admit I chickened out in both cases because both of them were too "bossy" (dominant) for me to get married.😉

In Portland Or there are a lot of Russians, Ukranian and Romanians and each have very big churches which seem to have the Bible being in the center of their spiritual belief. Where I worked in the hospital I really enjoyed working with nurses and doctors friends m these countries. My spiritual belief is that only love endures and we are all in this together. I would like to say that Russian woman are the same to American women when you play a little. Don't give everything all at once, you must spark her interest in you but you must be cool about it. Not too much at one time. Hold back rushed feelings and rush judgements. It needs to play out for a period of time. Women will give you signs and ques letting you know what is going on.

United States southern culture is very similar in that guys are expected to be gentlemen. Most people get married in their 20s and it's rare to meet someone who dates without wanting to get married at least in the area I'm from. Northern culture is what's usually portrayed in the media and southerners are portrayed badly. I've rarely heard of a southerner in an open relationship so I think it's usually found more in the north and large cities.

My son is 12 and since he was old enough to open a door, he has known it is good manners.))) Relationships- it is very very rare to find someone who wants this relationship unless they do not want long term commitment, just games. In the south of the U.S., I have noticed that we are more "conservative " than the northern parts, with EVERYTHING.

I definitely wish more people had this view on dating. Casual dating is terrible. This is exactly the problem in the United States. Most men or women have no morals or values. As a 44 year old Ameriican, dating is horrible in the U.S. right now. I prefer a God fearing women with values similar to Russian women. This is nearly impossible to find. Thanks for the video.

Don't be afraid to look beyond the US. Consider a country and learn a 2nd language. Don't think you have to be perfect. I plan to bring my Russian girlfriend to the US to marry. And I gave up on crummy US dating sites long ago. Women will love to see your effort. Russian girls (only old ladies are referred to as women) are delighted that a western man know some Russian. Just do not do any pay by the letter dating sites. You need to use self directed site where you are communicating directly with the girls that you like, or that like you. Best of luck!

Russian women seem to be a traditional women even in this times. Personally I prefer this than anything else and would love to appreciate a Russian woman in a relationship. I think Russian beauty is a topping of a Russian women like an ice cream having different types of morsels and other toppings on the sides. Russian women i think are one of the best in terms of tradition, family, and beauty. I think Americans love Russian women because of this things. In our country Italian women are more and more indipendent as they have always had their work or job, in order to earn enough money to support their families, considering that it's rare to find a housewife nowadays (we have to go back over the years, probably in the 60s). Certainly the economic crisis,due to the pandemic, has left many workers at home compelling a lot of women to be housewives, waiting for a new occupetion. Personally I' m indipendent, even if married. I wouldn't want to depend on my husband at all. It would be awful. Women's rights are fundamental. Thanks for this nice video

Thanks for the comment, good one. Well, we don’t have here women’s rights getting discriminated, at least that’s how I see it. So women’s choice of a financially stronger men is a choice if there own. I guess, that’s what Eli said, and by the way, my wife feels the same. I don’t want to be dependent, so I do work, but I want my husband to earn even more so that to deliver even more benefits for our family as a whole.

I think there's a big difference between being independent(monetarily) and still being feminine,carrying the culture through cooking and so on and being 'independent'-slaving away in a low paying office job just to eat junk food and let your kids grow up in the streets,eating same junk food,is that's what independence is to women nowadays? being a broken copy cat of a man,never at home? not teaching your kids what love is? not creating and carrying culture forward? I just think there's no independence in career building,it's modern slavery colored in,after 40-50 years you won't be needed and other females will replace you,this happened to my mom,she worked 40 years in banking.She was never home,got cancer at age 60 due to her stressful job and being kicked out by feminist culture that runs banking nowadays-the most toxic environment a woman can be in,especially an older women,where 20 year olds would do anything for your position.And the worse part is we didn't get richer just because she worked constantly,we just got unhappy,living with strangers. It's just my advice for you women,sure,be independent when it comes to money,but NEVER sacrifice your family or health for it.If it's overtime work rather than with your kids it's not worth it,only unhappy children and cheating/drinking husband will be the result of this.It you have no home maker you have no home or a loving family.You know what I mean? I believe it's called уют in Russian,when a female creates уют in a household,you can always feel it when you see such families and visit their homes.And the weirdest part majority of these females find a way to be independent with money and still be feminine and at home when needed.Like my aunt,they own a small farm,very self sufficient,has a wonderful husband and 3 children,the best part is she works at home stress free and still has plenty of time to go out with the girls,go on week long holidays just with other females to Italy or Egypt.Her kids were also home schooled.

I'm from America and I've never even dated more than one women at the same time. I Have also never ever let a Woman pay for anything, not even a cup of coffee! I was raised by traditional Norweigian American parents & feel like I relate more with Russians. My Mom even had to beg me to smile in pictures as a kid. I've been learning Russian for 5 years now, just in case I do meet a Russian Woman. Perhaps I should start a VK Profile to try to meet a Girl from Russia?

Based on purchasing power parity Russia is ranked rather high (5th or 6th in the world) - though the average salaries seem low, prices for goods and services in Russia are low too, compared to the USA and many other countries. Housing fees, food, public transportation, fuel, medical services, house rental fees, etc. are low and affordable for working people.

Great video! Should consider doing the same video but in reverse. Would be interesting. Women in the US are generally similar to what you’ve described when it comes to personality traits, etc. Depends on the region, and the individual on the “openness” of a relationship people may want here. For example, some religions here practice Polygamy. Utah is pretty notorious for it. Which tends to be one man and multiple wives. Some do it, without religious purposes too.
