Many Ukrainians living here in my town , western Poland. Polite, honest ,calm, smart people. What I have observed on walks in parks,squares, etc. that Ukrainian mothers with small children speak Ukrainian and Russian among themselves - but to their children they talk very often in Polish already. And the kids very often speak often more fluent, without accent - than their mothers themselves.

Both of my mothers parents were born in ukraine. When they emigrated to Canada before WW2 they were henceforth Canadians. They refused to teach their children Ukrainian as their children were canadian. They were very loving and loyal towards the country that took them in. My grandfather joined the RAF a couple of years before WW2 saying he could see bad things coming and he needed to help protect his country ( Canada ). They were never ashamed or hostile against the Ukraine. They loved that country and their relatives there deeply... but they were canadian the moment they landed. Ukrainians are loyal, stubborn and hardworking almost to a fault. I have no doubt that as long as they get support from the west they won't give up till they are free. Even if this offensive doesn't go as well as hoped they'll regroup, re-equip and go back at it.

Yes there are a couple of familys living in my small town in the UK, when they come into the store where i work in they are so polite, they have all learnt English as well :-) Hopefully they will be able to return home at some point but compared to some of the "boat" people we get over here the Ukrainians are very welcome in the UK :-)

While I understand what you are saying, I don't think you have actually appreciated how much those countries have given, the US for example is now running low on a number of ammunition types i.e. HARMs, GMLRS, 155mm artillery shells, Javelins, etc. The US probably won't replace the amount given for the next 2-7+ years e.g. 8,500 javelin missiles have been given to Ukraine, the US only makes 1,000 a year and 800,000 artillery shells have been given, they only produce half of that a year.

The Little MLRS reminds me of the WW2 German made Nebelwerfer, which was used in the same manner to pound US and Allied forces in France and in Belgium, which was also used to great effect in the opening stages of the German Ardennes Offensive aka the Battle of the Bulge.

I think its casualties, not deaths. That includes wounded and dead soldiers (im not 100% sure though) But thats still 200k+ soldiers out of action which is still huge
