Dorka Takácsy of the Centre for Euro-Atlantic Integration and Democracy noted that Russian propagandists use familiar information patterns from the Second World War. The basic narrative is a story of defense of the homeland. Now Russia claims it's defending itself against NATO, but in the propaganda, this is equated as defending itself against the Nazis, which is well received among Russians. The expert points out that Russians have been locked in a bubble of internal propaganda for years, which makes them very easy to manipulate.
