Very good video. By the way, it might just be a coincidence, but ALL of the notable D'amato fighters had problems with their backs. All of them, including lesser-known disciples like Kevin Rooney. So the coach's lesson on physiology and biomechanics here is very apt.

might be due to the ridiculous amount of calisthenic conditioning? what was it, 1000 situps a day?
@ahmedelmahjoub1452 Жыл бұрын
@@gordonf4723 Not very reasonable 😅 There are millions who are doing calisthenics or are high performance athletes. I am a high performance athlete and I do since I'm a kid nearly everyday at least 300 sit ups, but regularly 500-700. Never had back problems. Sit ups strengthen your core not weaken it😅 Peakaboo as we know it is as explained in the video not good for your spine. 😉
@Wayf4rer Жыл бұрын
@@ahmedelmahjoub1452 There's validity to what he's saying. Many fighters begin this rigorous training like Tyson did very early on, and continue it for 5-10 years. This can create a bad imbalance between the anterior and posterior musculature, alongside all of the rotational/side-bending work adding onto spinal stress. Same thing for the discs in the neck.
@ahmedelmahjoub1452 Жыл бұрын
@@Wayf4rer This can happen in a short time of period, too. That depends on how you do the exercises. As I mentioned above I'm doing sit ups daily and I have a lot athlete friends who do, too. Strengthening your core saves you ,but doing exercises wrong will kill you. Of course there are always exceptions but the rule is , it strengthens your core. In this case it's the way they move their body , especially when they are heavy weights. The first comment under we write , mentioned especially d'amato's fighters have such problems. D'amato's fighters did as all athletes core strengthening exercises, but they also do Peek-a-boo, so what will be the reason for their back problems?
@bowley9733 Жыл бұрын
@@ahmedelmahjoub1452 its the fucking sit ups cuz made everyone do a hefty amount of sit ups wich are VERY bad for you're lower back and especially the spinal disks its not peek a boo its the fucking sit ups just do crunches way better for you're core and WAY better for you're spine.

Great Video as always coach Frolov 🔥🔥🔥 Sonya will become a future champion🥊🥊🥊 could you make a video about angles? Every time I see boxers from former Soviet Union they're so good at creating angles both defensively and offensively.

Only works for shorter athletically gifted fighters, fast feet, ko power. Otherwise it is mostly a inefficient style.

@@timm285 old school as in Gene Tunney, Jack Dempsey days and beyond. These guys had a work ethic the modern fighters couldn’t begin to fathom. Tyson’s style doesn’t take too much energy, modern fighters just don’t put in the work to build a large enough gas tank to utilize it.
@Sh4dyClass1c2 жыл бұрын
@@ballindavid714 it works for anyone who puts in the work. “Athletically gifted” is a term people without the guts to do what it takes often use - endless hours of hard work is generally misconstrued as god gifted talent. Mike Tyson’s fast feet and ko power were built in the gym, through layers of blood sweat and tears. He was easily the smallest heavyweight fighting in his time. What separated him from everyone else is how bad he wanted it.
