First I thought this was silly, but at 1:12 I realized how this can be useful. I’ve never seen anyone practice an overhand punch. I’ve done it to other guys and catches them by surprise. Now I have an idea on how this is done. Great video.

I workout after mma 6x a week for an hour and just lift as heavy as i can until it doesnt go up and i thought it would help but is this rlly negatively impacting me?

You don’t have to rotate your torso with the shoulder as you retract the fist after the first punch. This way you immediately protect your chin from the front while it still stays protected on the side by your shoulder. I think this technique is more effective, though slightly more technically demanding.

That thumb down jab is a real weapon. It stiffens the arm into a piston.
