First I thought this was silly, but at 1:12 I realized how this can be useful. I’ve never seen anyone practice an overhand punch. I’ve done it to other guys and catches them by surprise. Now I have an idea on how this is done. Great video.

You don’t have to rotate your torso with the shoulder as you retract the fist after the first punch. This way you immediately protect your chin from the front while it still stays protected on the side by your shoulder. I think this technique is more effective, though slightly more technically demanding.
