This guy is the best boxing instructor I’ve ever seen on KZbin! Nothing against all the great information many good coaches and fighters have posted, but, this guy is on a whole other level!!! Thank you so much for posting

Cuz he's Russian. I mean that in the best racist sounding way possible. Russians seem to be so much more technical. They don't care for anything before they care for fundamentals.

Hey coach, I’ve been inspired by the stand up style of Soviet boxing. The focus on effective footwork as a defense and a base for offense meshes well with how I’d like to box. I was wondering, do you have any drills for clean footwork while keeping the hands up? Copying Muhammad Ali early on, I’ve developed the habit of keeping the hands low to counterbalance. When I put my hands up in guard, I find it difficult to keep my footwork smooth. Something to improve my footwork when my hands are up would be great.

Maybe try loostening your shoulders while stepping and jumping. I see this coach do it alot. You have some kind of counterweight as well I think. Oess

Just do the same footwork drills u already would. If u have trouble keeping ur footwork when ur hands are up its probably cuz you train with them down. Train with them up and you will get better. If not maybe you need to adjust ur stance or even just got recommended bad drills. But if u stick with it and just train with them up by either your cheekbones or eyebrows you should see progress (eyebrows if short cheekbones if tall). You dont have to keep them completely still there either you dont want to be stiff and robotic but you should be constantly reminding yourself to keep them up in that general area and to return ur punches to ur face as well. You gotta know how to protect your chin before you can try styles that leave it exposed
