Great video! Couple of things to mention, in conditions, your overall score will be limited to the lowest percentage thus affecting the output of each planter. Consideration should be given for the biome that you are building in for temperature. Adding heaters (3 power each) will increase your temperature rating (and increasing your need for additional power). You will need a lot of heaters building in a snow biome, where as less (or none) will be needed if you build in a desert biome. I like your idea of using fish for composting as there is no maintenance for them, but horse manure yields much more compost per unit than fish. Unfortunately they do require maintenance in feeding them as well as a facility to house them. With that in mind, dedicating 4 to 6 planters for corn or pumpkins should be more than enough to keep your stables well fed. By attempting to get your overall conditions as close to 100% as possible will yield much more product (depending on genetics). So far my largest yield for a single hemp plant was 460 cloth (100% overall conditions with the following genetics: Y, Y, G, Y, G, Y). It should be noted that cloning only takes place within a single planter and is unaffected by adjacent planters. That being said, I do like how you seperate the harvesting area from cloning area as a matter of organization. I like your base design, and using water purification as it removes the restriction of building in swamps and rivers and opens it up building along the coastline for access to the oil rigs, underwater labs, and cargo ship! Using batteries is also paramount for consistent power, when I first started farming I used wind turbines only directly to power everything and found that the varying output caused me to have to overbuild turbines unnecessarily to ensure that everything was powered up all the time. Using turbines to charge large batteries which put out 100 power consistently allowed me to reduce the amount of turbines overall, using solar to supplement as needed per large battery. Some care should be taken with wind turbines as dependant on their placement and wind direction one wind turbine can block some of the wind to another turbine. To solve this I have resorted to building separate towers at different compass headings as "power stations" that power up my facilities. It should be noted that the higher the tower, the better and more consistent power is supplied to the wind turbine's output (be careful of shadowing your solar panels). Overall great job, Sub'ed, Liked, and clicked bell! Aloha ;D

Just want to address some of the things Torrey Ho said. Pickles at 1 scrap for 6 at the bandit camp is much more efficient than wasting planters for god clone berries or cloth. Most players dont get to 100% in their planters because you would need to use fertilizer to get the ground stat to 100% and you can also sell fertilizer at bandit camp at a 2 to 3 ratio for scrap which is far more viable and valuable than putting fertilizer in your planters (buy your pickles here whilst selling your fertilizer.) This will give you a stat of 75% as the ground stat would be the lowest and this is what most people do as its more efficient. Wind turbines, building them facing different headings makes no difference as they all rotate to the direction of the wind to generate power. Finally you can stack solar panel right up against each other as shadowing doesn't affect them like it does with a windturbine and even though the sun rises in the east and sets in the west, face the solar panels facing north when in the southern half of the map and south when in the northern half of the map. Then sun is just a visual representation in game when actually the game mechanics the sun scrolls along the center line of the map ;). Great vid will be giving this a go tomorrow on wipe day with a few tweeks ;)

Tip for base upkeep - once you start selling teas/clones you will eventually have more scrap than you’ll know what to do with assuming that you don’t get raided, so you can use your vending machines to buy farm (stone/wood), while selling your teas in another machine, the two work hand in hand, so this will get you more customers, and if you buy the farm at a fair price you should never have to go out farming yourself! Worked great for me so I hope this helps.

Hey. Liked the video. Noticed the improvements from the previous farm. I assume that the upkeep is less. Also liked that you had learned to optimize your electricity output. Problem though that I did notice was that you are way overcharging your batteries. Like by 300 percent. Each large battery will only put out 100 electricity. To keep them charged at all times the way you have them wired requires 120 power. 1 wind turbine will give 150 power on average. This will fluctuate, but will fluctuate by the water in the desert biome. To make sure you keep flowing at all times, 1 windmill and 2 solar panels will be a little overkill. This would reduce the amount of windmills and make the remaining windmills more efficient. Also it will reduce the chance of your windmills shading your solar panels.

Leave all the combiners at roof level ..connect all windmills and pannels together in a closet on the roof and then bring one line down to a splitter/3way then to batteries.splitter will be a good way to divide the supply evenly to all 3 batteries.and is easy to check to see the power coming in available in one spot.

Nice video; you could improve your electrical setup in a few ways. Firstly I would use root combiners to connect all the inputs (wind turbines and solar panels) into one single input, then put that through splitters to a bank of batteries (and remember that a large battery can use a maximum of 125 power for charging - I'm fairly sure you're wasting power in the setup you used). This will account for variations in the power supply based on e.g. position of the sun. Then you can use combiners to connect all the batteries together into a single output rail, and use branches to distribute the power where you need it - this way you can configure exactly what each component needs compared to splitters where you can only divide by two or three with each output. I usually have a bank of branches next to the batteries, with each branch sending a chunk of power to a major system or floor, then use more branches locally to divide it up (for example one branch serving all the pumps, then at the pumps using one branch per pump). It's more efficient and also simpler to manage 🙂

I'm on vacation right now but when I get back I'd love to work with you to make this more efficient. For example, a sprinkler uses 2ml/s and distributes 15ml every 5 seconds evenly between all planters being splashed rounding down when distribution is uneven. By having the sprinkler splash 4 planters at a time each planter only receives 3ml every 5 seconds and 3ml just gets lost to the void (3ml x 4 planters = 12ml used out of 15ml potential). However with 3 planters getting splashed per sprinkler each planter gets 5ml and none is lost. Resulting in maximum efficiency. This is just one area where efficiency is lost within this design. However there's probably more to go over at a later time such as lighting. I don't want to discourage you however, I love seeing more players taking interest in this side of the game and I'd love to help you out more when I'm back home in a few weeks. Let me know if you're interested.

You could've gotten rid of the splitters used for the lighting and had only 1 splitter, or better yet just connect the lights directly to the battery. The splitters took 1 power from each source, meaning you were wasting 4 power for no reason.
@Kippa617
@Kippa617 2 жыл бұрын
This is true, but 4 power is enough to power 1 light so nbd, thanks though! Never considered dedicating one main line on a battery just to the lights, but this would only benefit if there was 50 lights, since you couldnt power anything else but lights as you are tapped into the main line on battery, and after learning from viewers that 1 light could cover 4 plots, 50 lights are not necessary

You can also use Chain Link Fence around the Fish Trap area to keep maintenance costs down vs some sort of walls. When they see the area is only fish traps they might not be inclined to waste much boom just to raid traps. But open traps cost nothing to loot... Cheer's...

You over built on water, and over built on lighting - Making the rest of your build much harder than necessary. Going up levels with more efficient water/lighting use would be better. Fresh water - 1 pump powers = 4 sprinklers. Salt water - 1 pump + purification = 2 sprinklers powered; 3 salt water pumps + fluid combiner + purification = 6 sprinklers. Sprinklers generate 15 ml of water statically, which is equally divided by the # of planters it touches, and only in whole numbers (rounds down.) 15ml for 1, 7 ml for 2 (1 loss) , 5 ml for 3 (0 loss), 3 ml for 4 (3 loss), 3 ml for 5 (0 loss). Plants can survive (with no W genetics) with 3 ml of water per planter; Thus 1 sprinkler can water 5 planters; Thus 2 sprinklers can water a 5 x 2. If you place the sprinklers smartly. Maximize for water efficiency? Or maximize for lighting efficiency? Which is more expensive to produce? For Salt water, Water is way more expensive to produce, thus water efficiency is important, lighting is not. Ceiling Costs 2 power. Light 1 Light = 4 planter boxes. Place lights accordingly. 7x tall (min height) for wind turbines; 1 Wind turbine = 70 watts = 1 Large battery = 80 planters (Fresh water planters), ~ 40 planters for salt water. Building off of the 5 x 2 (planters only) you can either go up (Building the Frank), or you can go wide 4x7 or 6x7 (planters only). Or you could do 5 x 7 (pumps/loot in center), or 7 x 7 (pumps/loot in center). Or you could build off of the 2 x 2, or 4 x2 , or the 4 x 4 modules. - With less efficient water uses, but meh.

stop putting sprinklers on the roof, they go on the floor with lights directly above them.... 1 light per 4 plants....

Sprinklers only the floor? Like under the garden plots?

@@Kippa617 where you place your sprinklers, thats where you place 1 light, which will give 4 planters 100% light then directly on the floor under that light, where the 4 corners of the planters meet, place your sprinklers, its easier if you place the sprinklers on the ground before the planters to plumb them up
