I wanna get the fde set and install them on my 500 SPX since i converted my shockwave to an adjustable brace/pistol grip set up. I feel like both my Mossberg’s are too similar now, and the SPX is still how it came from the factory. Added both pieces to my amazon wishlist. Good vid. Thanks.

I had to take a dremal tool to my stock that way I can remove trigger group without removing stock every time

I don't think this works on the 500. The action bars are molded on to the forend. It actually can be done but you have to buy extra parts and it's a big histrionic pain in the but. Not really worth it.

The stock works fine with slight modification to allow trigger group to drop out freely. You are right about the forend I bought one before knowing and now in the process of installing slide tube. Still worth it to me I’ve heard the stock forend without the slide tubes break easily.

Yall both got the 500 with the pinned forend it sounds like. You have to make sure it's the forend that's held on by the threaded but. All you need with this one is a forend wrench to remove the nut.

Same with the Maverick 88, uses the pinned forend. You can buy the action tube that will work with these parts but they’re not that inexpensive, at least for what it is. For what you’d have invested you could probably find a better deal on a 500/590 with a non-pinned action tube.

If you have a pinned forend, just replace the slide tube assembly with a 7 3/4 slide tube assembly. Also make sure you order the castle nut to secure the new slide tube.

I had not one problem with it. It says in the instructions you may have to do several modifications if it doesn’t; depends on your gun.

Forgive me, I’m a novice, but do you have to re adjust the sights after you change the stock and fore end?

If it’s a shotgun with a bead front sight there’s nothing to adjust on the one he had in the video. If you have the ghost ring or rifle type sight, or are running an optic like a red dot or scope, then yes you’d want to check your sights/optic.

Butt stock should fit no problem, for the forend you’ll need additional parts. The action tube on the 88 has the action bars pinned to it, which won’t allow different forends to be installed…you’d need a replacement action tube from Mossberg.

From my understanding you would need to crimp the heat shield closer to the barrel and possibly sand a small amount on the forend for smooth operation..

Let's get to the dark side without hesitation. With this stock, which everyone seems to like so much, you cannot get the trigger assembly out, or get it back into the gun during takedown on the Mossberg 590A1, without having to loosen the stock quite a bit. This requires more time and an additional hex wrench. Whereas with normal takedown you do not need any additional tools. I like my Magpul stock, but this is really a stupid design flaw!

That's not true. I have the Mossberg 590 and have installed the Magpull stock. Ive had no issues removing the trigger housing from the shotgun. Ive never had to loosen the stock.

Adjustability…can easily change length of pull, comb height, various sling options, ability to attach accessories to the forend using the MLOK slots.

I just bought my first mossberg 500….so when I first unboxed my mossberg shotgun…. I went to pump it but I wasn’t able to press the action sliding release lever because it was inside. ( the lever wasn’t down so I couldn’t push it) Is that normal? So the first pump I don’t press on the action sliding release lever since there is nothing in the chamber? Please I need help! Thank you!

If nothing is in the chamber or mag tube, you should have to press the slide release. I would try dry firing it empty and see if that maybe resets it.

The Mossbberg 500 does NOT have a castle nut on the foregrip, just the two slider arms that go into the breech.

I made it fit my 500A. Chiseled down about 2" of the polymer on the muzzle side of the forend. Also cut maybe 1/4" on the action side, just where the action touches.
