Gone are the days that companies like this delivered their own product. Everything is warehouse and broke down as needed. Really nice work on this old toy, I enjoy watching you bring these back to life.

I don't think I've ever seen a wooden component on any vehicle from any decade during Tonka's manufacturing heyday. You did a GREAT job on this one. Charlie the Tuna would be proud of you!

It's nice to see an actual restoration channel that actually restores items instead of smearing them with mud, cleaning it, and calling it "restoration" You and Odd Tinkering both are that way. 👍🏻

Any chance we might get a video here and there with similar narration? Maybe for pieces you think are particularly cool? Keep up the great work!

Another lovely restoration good sir. May I offer a tip of consideration? Would you mind adding a coating of primer powder before doing the color coat and sand the primer coat after it has baked? Probably would make the surface a lot smoother for color powder coating. Slightly rusted metal parts like the bumpers and wheels can be sandblasted and given a coating of Super Chrome powder for an unbeatable chrome finish.

Joe restores back to original. Since it was originally bright red, that's what he did.

I understand your point Paul, but I find that improving what exists (once in about sixty years) would have been a nice way to leave your mark ... Still, it is an excellent restoration!

@@ronaldlapointe1219 Some people prefer to customize things and make them their own. That's perfectly Ok, obviously. Some people strive to restore things to exactly as they were when they were made or sold.

A lot of commercial trucks actually came with colored chasis. Not too uncommon to see a red chasis. In this case, I just did what it originally had

What is it about sand blasting? Just like mowing a lawn. I don't know why i like it, i just do. First time i saw someone sand blast was on a public pool they got hired to repaint and seal the also did a kids bike. I felt like i was getting paid to do something kinda fun. All i did was re load the sand into the blaster
