This is fantastic restoration!! I own tons of cast iron. I have never seen the use of Pepsi to remove rust. Great video!!

Cool. I've got a few pieces I'll try that on. Easy and non toxic. Question.... Why didn't you heat the pan before putting the crisco on? Most cast iron people say to heat it bare in the oven first. It completely dries it and is supposed to open the surface pores to better cost the iron. The pan looks great, just wondering.

I wouldn't trust the pan for the sole reason of it looks like they're still seasoning on it. So I do agree the Pepsi did work. He just needed to scrub more and get the seasoning off to start with because even if you rest is cleaned off, I do not trust that seasoning even if he's putting more on now. I do agree heated a great job. He just needed to keep scrubbing
