I used get these jobs - I stopped patching & started screwing wood to the tops - I'd angle 6 full length runners, from 6" timber to 1" timber, then screw on cladding. That created a new roof & nobody complained about leaks any more. Then we'd sell gutters & the drains to take the water.. 6 5 4 3 2 1".. tech-screwed on... then cladding sheets...

@@TheHotGlueHero My Lads used laugh when I'd say we've a container to repair, I want it to be a 15k job & I want the client to be delighted. They'd go "It's a patch on the roof ffs J! It's 200 quid, tops!"... Oh no it ain't. It's a custom finished mobile storage facility with full weatherproofing & insulation, and ye can write the bill off over 5 years against tax.. Capitalise it... " We did a good lot of 15k "roof patches" that my lads reckoned ought be 200 quid jobs. Think different. "See the way the roof drips on your products, ruining them - sprayfoam insulation, voila, no more drips... and that floor that breaks? Chequer plate.." We'd do the 15k off "a storage container we want fixed.." - and the Client would be delighted. Plus they barely cared - it was a tax write off the way we did it - they capitalised it over 5 years. Only later on did I realise I was an idiot for doing it too cheaply at 15k - they didn't care what the cost was. They could give it to me or the Taxman - it barely mattered. I didn't understand business. I did, but I didn't.
