Now I think he’s proven himself to be what we all thought he was when we first heard the news about him joining the Warriors. I don’t think he’s got it in him to be the undisputed best player on a championship roster, I don’t think he’s an alpha. I think he’s a childish, fragile player who just can’t handle that kind of pressure and expectation. My problem about player empowerment is that the movement only empower superstars, who don't really need that empowerment. When players get traded, they have to move their family and learn to settle in a new city. If a player is constantly moved around, it is bad for their mental health and stress level. Now we celebrate all these superstars moving around as if those moves can make the lives of average role players better. The fact is that when a star request a trade, role players got moved around like pawns. Superstars like Harden and Durant makes a ton more than an average NBA player, and moving from one city to another is not as much of a burden for them.

Intro is how we all feel about KD (and Kyrie, and probably Ben too but nobody gives a shit about Ben anymore)
@evanwrenn4022 жыл бұрын
I don’t think he owes Pat Bev or any other player shit. That’s on them to negotiate their own situation. It’s always been a zero sum game, more for me means less for y’all. I do think he owes the Nets because he signed a 4 year contract and I’m glad they called his bluff. He was obviously never willing to sit out the rest of his career.

Bro, If you hold up the league and force people to stay in UTAH because of your selfishness, you should be shunned.
@walker19842 жыл бұрын
It definitely will have an impact on the new CBA. Star player power has gotten out of control in some respects with KD being a prime example.

I mean tbf though, players SHOULDN'T be locked into contracts with their teams permanently and being able to force a trade SHOULD be implemented, since that's basic human contractual rights. The fact that the Nets kept over valuing Durant during trade negotiations is basically forcing him to stay with the franchise. THAT IS NOT OKAY FOR ANY FRANCHISE. They got PLENTY of good offers, but declining ALL OF THEM is absurd.

No reason to be embarrassed, he made the whole offseason about himself like he does every year. He does it all the time. This is what powers him is hearing everyone shit on him.

The nets messed this up. I really don't see how Kyrie Irving name keeps popping up. He resigned his deal and said he wanted to stay. Kyrie is the whole reason kd is in the in Brooklyn.

Bro..do you not know... The details of what Kyrie wanted is bs. Want a max that Brooklyn said yes too..but Kyrie want no more than 60games a year n no back to backs 😑.

This is precisely why the Nets weren't getting the offers they thought they were going to get for KD -- no one wants to mortgage the future for an aging, injury risk (over the last several years), mercurial if not downright childish (albeit talented) player who isn't going to lead them to a title (because he can't lead).

Kevin Durant the basketball player. Amazing. Should be in discussion for top 10 nba players of all time with potential for top 5 barring his injury. Kevin Durant the person is... kind of a bonehead. Went to Warriors and didn't think he would be the bad guy? Okay sure buddy. Left a sure thing title run back years to go to Brooklyn (?!?!?!) and hang out with Kyrie (?!?!?!) who.. is his friend? okay buddy. Kyrie is a big dummy even before COVID-19 (Flat earther anyone?!) and then Kyrie, HIS FRIEND, left KD high and dry by not getting vaccinated. We should be talking about the great legacy of KD right now.

I think kyrie is gettin too much shit. He formally asked if he could explore sign and trade, FO said yes. He found out there were no good sign and trades, so he opted in to his contract. He never requested a trade or anything like that, he barely even spoke about basketball this offseason.

Funniest part is a lot of Nets fans on Twitter were critical of the Nets and not Kyrie/KD. Those two deserve the bulk of the blame in this situation, and people still gave them the benefit of the doubt, though they arguably didn’t deserve it.

If you want to be traded and think you can get traded. Ask to be traded. Loyalty to a team has never been a thing to me. I would never tell someone to be loyal to McDonald's I'd they think they can have a better experience at Burgwr King.
