Stanek Gallery, Disrupted Realism, Reimagining the Figure

The Stanek Gallery presents "Disrupted Realism, Reimagining the Figure", its third exhibition since 2018 to focus on a new style of art that blends naturalism and painterly abstraction. And for the first time, sculptors are part of the mix! Sculptors Katherine Stanek and Rolf Petersen join painters Martin Campos, Stanka Kordic, and Jacqueline Boyd. It will be on display through August 14, 2021.

Great images and as is often the case we find some experts and the artists themselves feeling compelled to give us the usual art blather about ‘process’ and other pointless drivel. The images speak eloquently for themselves and at the end of the day (and the beginning too) that’s all you’ve got and all you need. This was as pretentious and ridiculous - and as illuminating - as a freshman year painting crit… my advice is to view this with the sound turned off. The video is far more illuminating and enjoyable without the off-putting static…
