I am new here but I love the merge of kinda flood waters bringing new treasures to look at! I live in southern Ohio, my grandma has a “dump” on her land and I love going up and seeing what the weather chooses to reveal to me! I can tell you’re genuine and I love it!!

I went to Inn The Oaks Manner when I was a teenager on a church retreat back in 1982 from Atlanta. That is so cool it's still being used. The care takers at the time there told us some scary stories about the Mannor. Thanks for sharing this!

One of my treasured items is a wooden window from New Orleans 9 th ward that was brought to me from Hurricane Katrina debris pile a year after the storm. I put prints from the area in it as a tribute to those most vulnerable who lost their homes. I’ve often thought it would be a good craft project to raise funds. In an area with a lot of antiques pottery there are probably a lot of ceramic shards for mosaics. I live on a family from inherited from grandparents from the early 1900s. They threw trash in a gully that was covered over every few years. As heavy rain wash out the family landfill I find a lot of shards. All I can do is donate money but I feel for all those who have a lot of work ahead of them.

First, I completely understand mudlarking and what it entails. There are more than a few Alaskans who check out areas or keep an eye out after what we call ‘breakup’ during the springtime. With just the waterways, it’s crazy to what we might see when the rivers are a raging bring up and out of the earth. I also remember a picture in our Alaska magazine with people watching a full vehicle that must’ve been too close and to where it was added to the raging river with humongous boulders of ice and snow that had been broken up. To share a quick story to the power of our rivers in the spring, a good friend of mine had been watching a river during that time. And as he said it, he watched a full sized tree pop up like a toothpick that stood at least sixty feet high and as quick as he saw it stand up, the river brought her back down and it completely disappeared. Let’s just say, he chose wisely not to cross her soon in the winter/spring. We also have stories of people who keep an eye out to the sides of our rivers/waterways, and keep tight to the banks in hopes of finding huge tusks once worn by of course not elephants, but huge wooly mammoths back in the day. These can bring someone a good chunk of cash depending on how well intact they are. So, I understand your mularking and respect it wholly, especially when it brings you a few hours of peace. I’m also so happy you found a complete bottle, and think it is cool that you did. I also like and appreciate you taking us along for the ride. Trust me, it took away all of my worries too, even if just for a little bit. So, I owe you a huge thank you! Can’t wait to join you next time! Be well and stay smiling.

Rusty, I know that you said that you've received some negative things deing said. I've lived through one of Oklahomas' worst tornados back in 1979. I appreciate what you are doing. I think that more people need to see these kinds of devastating things. Many people want to be like an ostrich with their head in the sand. If it didn't happen to them or someone they don't know, then they don't want to see. Thank you for being positive in the midst of the desolation. You are a candle in the dark, a flower in the desert. Thank you.

Rusty, think about collecting those pieces of glass & ceramics and reselling them to craft people with the notation of where they came from. I think there would be a good market for them and would help generate money for the victims.

The brain creature is one of the aliens from the comic books/movie "Mars Attacks." But I still don't know what the object is. :) The car emblem thing is the center wheel disk from a 90s - 2000's full size Buick. I'm thinking maybe a RoadMaster. (??) That's definitely the old Buick logo.
