Rutt's Hut Legendary "Rippers" have been rated #1 in the Nation. Does it live up to the hype?

In this episode I visit Rutt's Hut, Located in Clifton, New Jersey known for its style of deep-fried hot dogs. The original process of frying causes the hot dog casings to crack and split, which has led to the nickname "Rippers". The relish is just as famous as the hot dogs -- made with a secret blend of mustard and spices. Rutt's Hut has been featured on the PBS special A Hot Dog Program, USA Today, numerous Food Network shows and the Travel Channel's Deep-Fried Paradise.

Finally my guy. Glad you got down with the rippers. Took my girl there early in our relationship. She spent hours prepping as she had no idea where we were headed. 8 years later she still mad. Hey, that ripper with the relish is truly one of those things you should experience before dying. The relish just makes you feel healthy after you eat that deep fried dog. I remember once going there when my belly was bothering me and afterwards I was CURED! Anyway, Next time you go you have to try the dipped hamburger. It's a simple burger dipped in gravy--just nice.

The seagulls are a permanent fixture at Rutt's Hut. I always gave them my leftovers. I be sitting in the car and just toss them on the hood and they did the rest. Wellers with mustard was always my go to.

I know I'm late here not sure if anyone answered your question but it's a natural casing beef and pork hotdog at least from everyone who has inside knowledge with them. I grew up eating Rutts Hutt and was spoiled eating these great hotdogs and ever since I moved to the west coast it has been difficult finding a place that serves anything quit like it but I hope some day to open up my own hotdog place and just hope it's even close to Rutts Hutt.

Man, growing up you can tell the difference in taste between beef, chicken, pork, and turkey hot dog. We always had to eat the chicken, pork, or turkey kind of hot dog because they were cheaper for mom to get for us. But I still remembered the first time I got to taste a beef hot dog, man I felted like we won the lottery and we gone be eating the good stuff for now on. Ever since I grow up, I only touch beef hot dogs. I will not indulge in any other flavor because it doesn't compare.
