Here A'Rou starts to show her true colors. She feels slighted - for Ruyi - and can't let it go. She sees Ruyi's troubles as stumbling blocks to her gaining glory. Later she takes it a step further and sees Ruyi as an obstacle to her gaining a higher rank and prestige. A'Rou failed to learn and understand how ranking worked in the harem. Had she learned, she would have realized that betraying Ruyi would never have the emperor see her in a good light. Especially since the emperor didn't believe Ruyi guilty. If A'Rou had waited a few more years and after other attempts to destroy the emperor's faith in Ruyi, the emperor might have been more receptive. Then again no. At that point the emperor would not have trusted anyone in Ruyi's household. A'Rou never had a chance and the only one that didn't know that was A'ruo.
