The same thing happened to the coupler on my Winnebago View a couple of years ago. Despite emptying and flushing the tank, there was still some sludge that oozed out. I brought mine to an RV repair place. I felt sorry for the owner who did the repair. I thanked him for doing a shi**y job and gave him a generous tip. 😂

That’s exactly what I did after dealing with MY black tank coupler last spring. I still have to deal with waste, but the OGO saves water and I don’t have to dump as often.

Fantastically educational! I loved the "coupler cam" shot from inside the rig. If you ever have to do this again, I've found it easier to change the rubber couplers from the grey and the black tank at the same time. That way the entire rigid piping assembly is loosened and it moves around a lot easier to squeeze the couplers into place. Yes, doing this out in the wild, laying on the gravel is a tough job. Wonderful video. Thank you. -C

If you over-tighten hose clamps you will cause the lip of the rubber part (coupler, hose, seal, gasket) to bulge which them promotes the determination of the rubber leading to leaks and cracks. Also, always wear heavy duty rubber gloves anytime you enter your black tank compartment or touch any black water equipment. All it takes is one little scratch and you can wind up in the ER.

We had longer screwdrivers. They wouldn't fit with the knobs from the valves and there is no way a rubber mallet would have gotten in there to do anything.

What you may want to invest in is an electric drill with rechargeable batteries and long extensions for drill bits and a socket set for smaller clamps like the ones you were working with. It would've made short work of that job,but, bravo to your success in changing your part. GIRL POWER!
@CarolynsRVLife

I have an electric drill (in fact it has appeared in many videos) and long extensions and none of it did a bit of good. Did you see those knobs?? But I sure do love the advice I get once the job is done and the video is live. .So Helpful.
