Very nice video of the Bogue Chitto State Park. I have ridden mountain bikes their on the trails and it was spectacular, but that was several years ago. They have really done an outstanding job with this park. State parks have always been my some of my favorite camping destinations. I'm glad I live only 20 minutes away. I will make plans to revisit soon with my grandsons.

What a beautiful state park with exceptional amenities! Last year voters here in Texas approved $1 billion for land acquisition for new state parks. We hope some of that is earmarked for much needed improvements in existing parks. Maybe our parks people should come to Bogue Chitto State Park for ideas. 😜 Great job Mike and Angel! P.S. The pole with the hook at the top in your campsite is for a lantern. Lots of folks use them for trash, too.

We are extremely proud of our park!!! The paving has all been completed since you filmed this video and it is all really nice. In addition to the Mountain Bikes you are allowed to ride your regular bike or electric bike on any of the roads you traveled in your truck. It makes for us a great ride on our Lectric bikes. We live in Franklinton where you drove through. The Washington Parish Free Fair is always the 3rd week of October and we have had as many as 300,000 people come into our town for it. The first Saturday night of December you can come into town and see the largest lighted Christmas parade on the Northshore. I was blessed to have began the parade in 2019 and I have now turned it over to another very capable lady. Also the first weekend in June we have the Washington Parish Balloon Festival. Come join us!!!! I have watched several of your videos but did not know you lived in Louisiana. From the accent I kind of figured LOL.

Hey Marsha. We just missed the balloon festival. I think we will be back in the cooler months, I really want to hit those MT trails on my MT bike (TREK). A good way to get here would be on hwy 16 from Amite off I-55 turn right going south on hwy 25 it's about 4 to 7 miles down on your left hand side, you will avoid a lot of traffic then if you came from I-12 On hwy 190 North to hwy 25 North, But hwy 16 is a little rough and needs repaving, but there is a Walmart either way you go ,

At the Mile Branch Settlement, the buildings were donated. SYLVEST-MAGEE HOUSE is from my relatives. I moved away years ago. I am trying to figure exactly where the State Park is located. Like who sold their property. The Fair has had a lot of fanily time of generations gone by. I had cousins that showed livestock. One rodeo, the bull got loose and men on horses went after it before it got to the Carnival Rides. That was in 1979/80. Jim Henson was there. Our baby loved Kermit the 🐸.

Hey Mae. I bet its a cool feeling to know your family is a part of the town's history! I would have enjoyed watching men on horseback round-up a big bull!!
