RV Door Not Shutting Properly?

Thank you so much for this video! I have struggled for the last year with my deadbolt not locking without a significant amount of effort, my cat has been able to get the door open, and it's even blown open while driving (thankfully a place to pull over was close). I've looked at getting a new lock, a new door, whatever. For some reason I never thought to adjust the bolt until this video. After a few minutes of fidgeting, it works! Literally saved me hundreds of dollars by suggesting a solution I didn't think of. Seems all RV problems boil down to "it got jiggled too hard" lol

I have been having trouble with my door for months. Mine was not a hex nut but it worked the same way with a socket wrench. I fixed it in 5 minutes. THANKS A LOT FOR THE INFO!!!

Thank you for the video. Initially my problem with our new Jayco Redhawk was that it was necessary to push in on the door from the outside to engage the dead bolt. Or from inside, pull in. Then I noticed the play in the door when closed. I tried to adjust the strike by moving it inboard but it will not go any further. The dealer will try to resolve this next week.

Worn hinges can create the same issue. The striker bolt basically never moves, but the position of the door can. Find what caused the door or the striker plate to move.

If its not, then you likely have a bigger problem. Body panels can detach and shift.
