Awesome! Give it a shot next time you travel and let me know how it goes. I found someone that can get me TMHI so I'm going to try that myself 😁

thanks for the info, I am from Montreal Canada, and we are limited in providers and service.. numerous times I am stuck with zero cell service when needed. I jumped on the Starlink roam service. Great option we could pause the service when not using it. Perfect for me. Work on the road when needed, watching all streaming apps its the hassle free system that work for us, Also at 199$ for the hardware it was a no brainer. Very happy with it

Great way to break it all down for the non technical. Still trying to figure out the best setup for our travels. My husband needs good reliable internet connectivity for his work. Mostly we make sure at our destination he has a solid option for connecting. Do not rely on campgeound internet...we go to a relatives house.

Some really great information! We are one of those that ditched Travel Data. Pricing was changing to a ridiculous amount.

Yeah, and it was such a bummer because it worked really well for so long. That's just how those MVNO's go though...

Winegard 2.0 came pre-installed on my van. Can you recommend any way to utilize this antenna, at a decent price, for a full time RVer that works remotely while traveling?

All I need is something to boost my cell signal. We have the new winegaurd 360 plus in our 2023 5th wheel. How can I utilize the winegaurd system to boost cell signal so that I can Hotspot my phone to tv?????? We were in Tennessee and only got one bar at Defeated creek. Ugh

Good video and I am pleased that you discussed both the needs for full timers and "vacationers". Was there a reason that you didn't discuss jet pack type of hot spots?
@Five2Go
@Five2Go Жыл бұрын
Those types of hotspots tend to come with plans with very low data caps. Traditional hotspot/jetpack plans used to be unlimited but it's not uncommon to see 20-50GB plans on them now. I wouldn't consider anything less than 500GB/mo for most families. We routinely use 800+GB/mo as a family of five.

Hey sir... do you have an opinion of or know about the Insty connect system? AND if that could be integrated into a "complete" package for someone?? Would be interested in your thoughts !!!

Wondering what category I fall into: I'm primarily making videos on the road & then uploading when I'm near civilization but I know there will be times when I'll need to upload where I'm boondocking. What's the best internet set-up for those who don't want their (30 min long max) vids taking all night to upload?

Hey Brian - thx for the videos! How much data do you guys go through a month? Most of the cell plans that aren’t so “fly by night” have low data caps. Starlink is unlimited as I understand it. Do you stream TV? Thx - Rob

We use a little over 800GB per month pretty regularly. That's work, uploading videos, downloading games, streaming video kind of all the time, etc. Both Starlink and my grandfathered AT&T plan are unlimited so I don't need to watch our data usage very closely.

Your video on the wireless cameras, do you have to have Wi-Fi like you would need at a home or are those able to be used with regular cell phone data? You also mentioned possible subscription plan but also stated you only needed that for extra bells and whistles.
@Five2Go
@Five2Go Жыл бұрын
The Wyze cameras require a wifi network that's connected to the internet if you want to look at them when you're away from home/the RV. Any internet connection would work, but it needs to be decently fast to stream the video. The subscription services they offer are for security recording, motion triggers, etc.

@@Five2Go thank you very much! Just getting our first camper trailer in a few days and there are so many opinions out there. Your channel seems down to earth and you seem to keep things simple. New subscriber here. Thanks!!!

Starlink is not a one size fits all. It has lots of issues. If you are east of the Mississippi it’s probably 3rd or 4th on the list. Tmobile home internet with an external 4x4 Mimo antenna is a better option.

Yeah I don't fit in the business category. I can get by with 10 GB a month. I don't know how much I use on T Mobile Home. But when I got my phone I just used cell service no wifi and used about 5 GB a month. My wife needed more for her class but that's over now. 73

What are your thoughts on Solis?
@Five2Go
@Five2Go Жыл бұрын
I had never heard of them before so I looked them up. Their data is incredibly overpriced. They're charging $70/mo for 100GB when I've seen 800GB plans for $120 and Starlink is unlimited for just a little more than that. It looks like their focus is on international data and not just the US which may explain those prices.
