Robin, you are so much of an inspiration to me. I became disabled in my 50s because a drunk driver hit me at a red stop light in the back of my vehicle, causing me to become disabled before I wanted to. After that my parents become ill and my sister, pretty much put the load on me because I didn’t have a job, so I went and took care of my parents for six years before they passed away and lived with them. Before that I was taking care of my grandchild that my daughter adopted because she couldn’t afford a babysitter. I’m telling all this to you, because pretty much all my life I have taken care of others and not thought about myself. When my parents passed away, I was TOD there dodge caravan which I still have. Although I’ve been thinking about getting rid of that van for a smaller car, watching your video has inspired me to keep this van and turn it into a living van on the road and do something that I would like to do and that is travel. Thank you again so much for this video. You don’t know how much it has helped me. Blessings to you and safe travels on your adventures. ❤️🤗🙌🏼

I too am a solo female with my dog on the road for the last 4 years. Prior to starting this life I worked a stressful job which I still work now from the RV. But, my shoulders are no longer up around my ears My back is not spasming from tension I'm not having upset stomach or headaches. And all I did was get on the road. I lived in an apartment where the only conversations with your neighbors was high and passing everybody's busy with their life and doesn't have time for anything else. I literally worked went home slept worked went home slept and so on and so on. I have more friends now and I have relearned the love of nature that I had when I was young.

I am a bookkeeper - most of my work is remote, almost ready to make it all remote. I will keep my home base as I have two sons still at home and think I will switch to a Class C as I don't love the whole hitching up and backing up. My ex and I retired when he was 45 in 1995, we traveled in our motorhome for about 40K miles. Then we bought motorcycles in 2000, after camping and motel stays for 65K miles we stepped up to Goldwings in 2003 and a tent trailer, traveled another 75K miles. On the motorcycles we were able to take back roads, secondary routes. Stopping in small towns, exploring the absolute beauty of this country!! We went on roads that the RV could not maneuver on, we would patronize local restaurants because we didn't take cooking utensils, just a cooler for snacks and beverages. We wanted to experience local communities, some as small as 50 people! (Can always find food in a tavern along with great conversations!) We did all this over 12 years, 2007 we got grounded as my mother became more frail, in fact I went back to work so that we weren't dipping into savings for health insurance while at home. After the end of a 40+ year marriage, paying him off, I'm seeing the bright light in my tunnel to getting back on the road! Been watching you for years, seeing you blossom is heart warming, sorry about Big Boy! I always loved RVing, there is always a great story out there to be told, a road to explore, in fact it was you that turned me onto Harvest Hosts! Happy Trails!!

In April 2022 I had back surgery that put me out of work for 3 months. I hadn't realized that my spousal support was going to end at about that same time, and was really struggling on how I was going to pay my bills, which put me into a depression. I started looking for upbeat things to watch, and stumbled on your KZbin channel. It started the spark of my retirement plan. Like you, I personally don't know anyone who is doing this, but thanks to your channel, and others like it, I feel like I am getting valuable information that helps me shut out the naysayers. Last April I set myself a 2 year goal, because I will be more financially stable, I will have fulfilled my commitment to 2 committees (which I find fulfilling), and will have my house ready to sell and on the market. I can't wait! Even my sons are getting more on board with it and less worried!! Thank you for this and all your other videos!! You are touching more lives than you know!

I have been watching you for years. I started looking into the LTV’s because if you. I picked mine up in October of 2019. I had been caring for my Mom and planned to “hit the road” when I finished her estate. I had been living in a “Majestic”, on the lake in the town she lived in. It was a used Cruise America rental. I loved living in it, but it was older and got terrible gas mileage and was essentially a big box. I was able to finally leave in April of 2021, towing a Jeep behind the LTV. I am now 75 and, thankfully, still am happy with my LTV. Unity, Island Bed. I have been to the Canadian Maritime Provinces (2022) and this past summer spent almost three months in Canada and Alaska. I have been across the U.S. four times. You are right there are a lot of us solo women out here. I plan to keep going as long as I can/want to. Being alone is not a disease. Being lonely can be a high stress environment, but that is not because you live alone. I was given another “AHA” moment that changed my life and how I lived. I live my life in a vehicle, a RV, or tent, or whatever makes me happy for that moment. I am retired from the day-to-day work life, but I have never missed a day of happiness or joy or feeling like I missed out on something in my travel life style. 😮❤

Thank you, Robin this one hit home so so hard. I fell just that way . Wife got stage 4 breast cancer, then I lost my leg going on cancer awareness bike ride. We bought a 5th wheel . Have been full-time 9 months now .my wife is still working. 1.5 million in medical bills. We are trying to save for traveling. Trying in April to hit the road . We need your help. Thank you for all you do to inspire. Have planed this since 2016. Just need to get your book. You are awesome. Danny and Christy. ❤

I do enjoy my job, so am patient to wait until the time is right. So sorry you lost your sister. I lost my dear brother a little over a year ago to cancer. The pain is real. I look forward to your Sunday videos after church while I'm eating lunch. Thanks!

I hear you loud and clear I also was tied to my job. I had a call back to my family. I helped cared for my dad before he passed. When my grandchild was born 3 yrs before and could not quit my job. One day at work after a 2 hr meeting I gave 2 weeks notice. Yes, I was on a wheel. Money was my drug. And suddenly I wake up when I saw my day failing my best buddy. Now, it’s my mother, you only have your family.

Bravo, to you, Robin! I respect and appreciate your courage and individuality! I am nearly 80 years old and in a hospice care home! If I had not lost my health I may have ended up living a nomad life and probably would have! However, I have no regrets because I had the most incredible fulfilling life before you could imagine! I have had people pursuing me to transcribe a book! I was a real estate broker in Las Vegas Nevada from 1990 to 2010. I dealt with world, famous celebrities, boxers, even mafia that flew me to New York for the most incredible wedding you could imagine I didn’t find out they were mafia until later! No space here, to delineate the+ celebrities! Also, some really incredible wonderful clients who weren’t celebrities! Unbelievable houses! Vintage and more! prior to that another life as an advertising agency owner in Salt Lake City, Utah! Writing and war television And radio commercials! When real estate crashed in Las Vegas was when I think I may have transition to nomad life, but my health failed!

I SO appreciate you and your openness about your journey 🥹❤️My husband and I are about to jump headfirst into this as well - although for us it will be a hybrid lifestyle bc we have a 10 acre homestead we’ve lovingly built over the past 20 years. And while I have loved my career as a rural farm call veterinarian, I went to college on an art scholarship and I was road-tripping across the country from the time I was 18. I settled and found a way to enjoy a rural traveling lifestyle through my vet work, but - I’m a highly sensitive person, an autistic artist who relates to animals better than people and it’s PEOPLE who have sucked the life out of me as I’ve given all of myself and more to help their animals for 27 years now. I have no regrets but - I have had cancer. I DO have multiple autoimmune issues and I DON’T know if I have 10 or 20 years left, although I hope the changes I’m making now will help me have a better chance. Regardless, hitting the road and experiencing some adventures has been calling me for a long time, stumbling upon your channel has been such an encouragement. Thank you for your honesty and your passion. You are correct, there are lots of people out there like you…keep sharing your stories, it helps more than you may ever know🥹❤️🙏

Hi Robin, I started following you a month or so ago. This video is so me...i am in a corporate job I hate. I am an artist and no time to paint. The big difference with us is I grew up camping and used to love it. I turn 65 next year and my plan is to purge my stuff, sell my house and buy a camper and become a Nomad. My family are even on board. Thank you so much for inspiring me to just DO IT! 😊

Robin, thanks very much for doing this video. I’m male and semi-retired but all of it speaks to me as well. I’ve already made the choice to live nomadic about a year ago but the problem is that I can’t find the way into a rig. RV’s are all so expensive now, even used ones. I’ve tried camping in my car but my back suffered for it. I’ll be trying again though. Before the pandemic I thought the chances were better to hit the road. I’m just saying that some of us don’t need convincing about the lifestyle but are simply unable to live it.

You're always such an inspiration, Robyn! I was mentally set to get an RV and hit the road this fall, but then the health problems (ie; vet bills) of my dogs, followed by necessary old age euthanasia ran up a hefty credit card debt, so I've decided to wait one more year while I pay that down because I don't want any debt payments on the road other than the cost of the RV. Beyond that, I want to keep my money flexible and fluid and my credit available. So, here I am, still watching and dreaming. LOL
