We stayed in Grand Lake for week across New Years. It’s packed snow everywhere with snowmobiles allowed on the streets. There is over 300 miles of groomed snowmobile trails. We toured RMNP on motorcycles several years later.

Once again, just the right info and details thar RVers need on cmpground research. The extra care & time you take to adding video of detailed footage that relates to your wording or descriptions in each sentence of your content...top tier YT producers. I hope others watching realize how valuable that is when researching the topics that you cover. You are wonderful professionals and we are lucky to have you here. 🙂

It's a beautiful place for sure. I lived in Loveland for 20 years so I know it well. Just a few weeks ago we traveled 8 states and stopped at the end of August to spend a week at the Riverview Campground on the 34. Our site backed to the Big Thompson and my granddaughter had a blast there. We have stayed there twice and really love the park and the staff. Of course my husband had not seen Estes so we drove up there one day and he was amazed. We weren't there at the right time to hear the elk bugling but we did have a lot of deer visit just across form our campsite across the river. Have fun and be safe.

Elk Meadow is wonderful. I have stayed there twice and the key pluses are being so close to both RMNP and Estes Park. They are also very pet friendly. If you are tired and just want to sit at the campsite and chill, your views will be amazing - mountains in the daylight and stars at night.

We got to stay there several times times when we lived in Colorado and we had our Class C. During the summer we used to love taking the shuttle into town because we did not have a tow. We also enjoyed taking tours of the Stanley and taking the shuttles into the park itself. My wife and youngest son did the Tram, I couldn’t because my autistic son was NOT going to get in the thing. They also told you to lock your car because there was a bear that would open your car door!!! I also got to see a paw print where the bear had tried to open their truck!!!

We stayed at Elk Meadow in late August and agree with your assessment. We did not explore all of the private campgrounds but, from what we saw, it was as good as any and better than most. We also agreed the scenery from town was as pretty as we've seen and we've vacationed in CO a lot.

Awesome review of the campground. Can't wait to go there. Love your videos! You are really good people. So glad you stuck it out. Relationships are difficult. I've found after 37 years to always have open communication (we write things down to look back on progress), what I like and appreciate and am thankful for and in a loving way what improvements can be made on my side and his. Never take constructive criticism negatively. I love that Paul admits when he made a mistake and learned from it. That is a real man. Hard to find men without those big egos. We have a monthly meeting to discuss our progress and our failures. It helps!

Our son worked at the YMCA of the Rockies there in Estes Park one summer in college and we went for a visit and loved it! Went on a horseback trail ride there that was phenomenal ! The horses were literally steping up 18" high bolders and we galloped across meadows, ect! Very quaint and beautiful little town. Go over to the Grand Lake side of the mountain to see the Moose as well as the elk you see there in Estes Park. I did see an elk go through the McDonalds drive through also! 🤣🤣

We were in Este Park several years ago on Tuesday after Labor Day and had bright sunny weather about 65 degrees did a little fishing and woke up on Wednesday with snow up to the door handles on our car. We had to be pulled out. We finally drove out of the snow in Nebraska. The snow was wet and heavy not a light fluffy dry mountain snow.

Stayed there mid-Sept 2019. Rocky Mountain National Park is gorgeous. We liked the Elk Meadow RV park but the only dislike was all the dust because none of the roads in the RV park are paved or have gravel. We had the same weather conditions and really enjoyed all the area had to offer.

This maybe cleared up by now. we were in Estes Park end of July. had checked out Timed Entry Permits for THE PARK. on the Goverment web site, It stated If you are staying in the park, you do not need a Timed Entry Permit. According to the information Center . 10,000 people including us, interpreted that Estes Park is in Rocky National Park. NOT. they were having a tough time with people. Great video.
@LizAmazing

Whew, I had not heard that but I can understand the confusion. Many people aren't even aware that you can't just drive into RMNP anytime either. BUT the main park is open before 9am and after 3pm to all, so that's very doable. Glad you know the area, it really is special.

Go into RMNP around 4pm and drive to Moraine park, is amazing…we pulled off to the side, put lawn chairs in the back of our pickup and watched the show. The elk are most active rutting at sun up and sun down. I just love listening to the elk bugle. You also didn’t mention the bear. It’s common to see bear in or around Estes. We camp at Mary’s Lake and have always enjoyed our stay.

We haven't found our way out west,some day I hope to. But here in the state that's known as the mitten state there a small town called Manistee, just outside of town there's a state park called Orchard Beach. There's no beach there now due to erosion. The campground is small but filled with mature trees and sits on a bluff. The view of Lake Michigan is priceless. The sunsets are amazing. The town welcomes a slow stroll as you peek through the shop windows. Mom & pop restaurants and bars to fill your belly at. If need be you can take a very short drive to two area Beaches to soak up the sun and to cool off with a dip in the lake. That was our gem find this season. What was a two night stay became six nights. I'll be returning for sure!

I stayed at Estes Park Campground at East Portal last year. Very nice, quiet, etc. but I’d say not for large rigs like you have. I personally hate the parking lot type of campgrounds like where you stayed so I would have definitely passed on that one although it looks great for large rigs. My trailer is 17’ so I’m happy with the smaller, quieter campgrounds. Sometimes there are benefits for being small!

We are planning on going to Estes Park soon and have a 38’ trailer. I saw where someone mentioned don’t go through downtown because there is a sharp left turn. We are coming from the east, did you guys run into any issues?
@LizAmazing

Oh, I'd heard that, too. There is away to avoid downtown. I would take the alternate route to make it easier. Enjoy your time their, it's awesome!!!

We just missed you, we were there in A3 two weeks ago, great place but the elk were not on the golf course this time compared to last year. Did you go to the sugar shack for their fudge? We went over to Grand Lake again this year and started to sleet on us at the top with 38 degrees. Bear lake area was great too.

nice video, with great info. some amazing scenery. I would definitely pick the site right away from the world, I know you say the town wasn't that busy, but wow , it looked like our capital on a bad day ha ha. I am sure lucky to live here in such a quiet country nz. take care.

We stayed there in June. Would not stay again. Too far from Estes Park and Rocky Mountain entrance, the staff tried but it just felt ran down. Was going to stay with family there but their trailer couldn’t make it up the windy hill to the site and it wasn’t big enough. This was after calls to assure it was. Stayed at the Larkspur Jellystone on the way home and that was amazing! We did enjoy the golf cart though at this one.

Exactly this! I miss saying that. I learned that if people will watch for at least 30 seconds, they will likely continue watching for the rest of the video. KZbin analytics showed our regular viewers stick around, but new viewers clicked off in the beginning. Since we stopped saying that our retention is much better. But maybe I will start saying it at the end of the video. Stay tuned...and thanks for watching!

Hey, you’re north of my neck of he woods, I’m down in Colorado Springs. I looked up that campground on google earth, there are NO trees. Well, a few. Is that dog park fenced? My female Dane will not go potty on the leash. The struggle is real. Have fun.
