Ha Ha Lou, you get up and down like me. Getting old is AWESOME, isn't it? Good job Sir.

Yes it is. Falling once okay but twice proves I'm getting old. Thank you for watching.

Thank you for taking the time to share! First timer working with a propane system. How many wraps of the LP tape do you put on? Also, what size/type of fitting goes between the tee and the regulator? Previous owner tore mine up with an adjustable wrench and there is currently a leak at that fitting.

Nice job on the install and explanation. We love our extend a stay. 😀

The extend a stay was one of my first upgrades I did to this rig. Thanks for watching.

Looking good on the install Lou, looking forward to installing mine this summer. The extend-a-stay will come in handy in a pinch. 👍

Thanks Tim, yes the extend-a-stay is a very worthy upgrade.

Question on the extend-a-stay for BBQ grill. I assume it's unregulated so connecting hose will have high pressure to the grill. I have heard that long runs of high pressure can deposit oil into the appliance regulator. Have you had any experience with that?
@RVHabit3 жыл бұрын
Yes the extend a stay is prior to the regulator on the RV so your appliance such as a bbq needs a regulator. this is the norm. You cant pas the LPG through two regulators. The regulator cuts down the pressure to the appliances working pressure. Again this is the way it is supposed to work. Oil is a product of LPG and will occur and accumulate in a regulator.

@@RVHabit Thanks for such a quick reply. I've read a bit more info since I posted. To clarify, more for others, LPG normally can't pass two regulators because the gas on inlet /higher pressure side of the 2nd regulator is not of sufficiently high pressure to OPEN the regulator. I think the "can't pass two regulators" isn't sufficiently explained for some of us and causes confusion. Concerning oil fouling regulators, according to MB Sturgis, the oily residue is typically from low quality hoses under pressure over long periods of time (e.g. months). Oils leach out of the hose into the gas where they end up in the regulator. To mitigate this long run/long period issue: 1) use copper tubing 2) install a first stage regulator to lower pressure to 10-15 psi which is still sufficiently high enough for the regulated appliance to operate properly. If you are only using the long LPG run for short periods (e.g. a couple of weeks) and disconnecting, the concern for oil is greatly reduced and no need for additional measures.

I have a 2014 Sun Seeker that's currently got a Cavanga 524AS regulator. Does it matter what I replace it with so long as it's a 2 stage regulator?
@RVHabit4 жыл бұрын
You can replace with a different brand but it must be the same type of two stage regulator. Make sure the vent is down. If you are unsure bring the old regulator to the store and have them confirm the correct part.
