I know that I'm quite a bit older and have older tastes but I think I would have gone with wood paneling. There are some nice white oak choices these days and y'all seem to be pretty good with trim work Good luck with the refit.

Happy birthday Maverick. My brother’s birthday is the 6th. We tow a 2000 Chevy Tracker, 4 wheel drive, removable top, basically a Suzuki behind our class C. I redid a travel trailer that had a leak on the front end. It was five years old bought from a friend whose husband passed away and it had never been used. It was rotted and full of black mold, terrible original assembly. You all are doing great, it’s a learning process!

Hey y’all, thinking ahead to your trip to Tampa. I would look at the date on the tires to make sure they are not too old. I also suggest changing the fluids (radiator, engine oil and maybe transmission). So many thing can go wrong on these older rigs and I’d hate to watch a video where it left you stranded.

You are doing "the right thing." By that I mean every repair is a "best effort," but if hidden degradation or subpar results were achieved, you are going forth resolved to achieve a "better than original" result. You replaced the whole roof and, are you are replacing the new wallpaper with a high-performance primer and two coats of a to-quality paint. You are producing a renovation which is better than when the unit was fresh from the factory. That is the ultimate metric of restoration! Congratulations - keep a steady pace! Hap New Year!

I'm glad you were proactive with removing the wallpaper. At some point, you can put texture on the walls with paint and that will hide imperfections. The downside, of course, is textured walls are harder to keep clean. I love the color. Already the RV looks bigger inside. Thanks for the video!

I paint better than my hubby, we prep together, I paint and he moves the ladders or scaffolding, once done he cleans the brushes. Figure out each others strengths or what one is willing to do and work with it. We're 40+ yrs strong with "marital bliss" because as you have figured out flexability is the key! Love your videos!

Paintable wallpaper is what i would use. You can get different patterns. It’s thick put it on with wallpaper paste

Looking good! On your next renovation I suggest you try laminated vinyl. No sanding, painting, prepping simply glue it up. Hides practically everything and adds a lot of insulation value. Just my .02

I wonder if you just went with luan (approx. 1/8 inch plywood ) and install on all the walls. Then paint. I can feel your pain. I'm really good at painting and caulking and I hate to do both.

So this is just something we did in somewhat of a similar situation. We used the white shower wall covering that’s made out of plastic /pvc material. It’s water proof and very easy to cut and so easy to install.

Hai Gregg remove wall-paper, use putty, sanding the oil based primers, then use paint… when you paint always start up to down never do side by side. It’s make lines after couple days(when it’s completely dry. It’s very fun job

For future reference, use a blow dryer to heat up the wall paper, the heat will make the adhesion soft. Slowly pull the wallpaper back over itself at a 45 degree angle. It will come right off. A blow dryer will work on price tags and decals too.

Cut all ur trim, mark each piece and the wall it goes on, checking angles/fit to meeting trim pieces. Then paint all trim pieces. After they dry then put them in. Then u only need to touch up where the nails are. 😉

I did a bathroom in beadboard. Ripped it 22" high, but they came in 4' wide and the ends overlap. Once painted, you couldn't tell it was in large sheets of plywood. Doing it with individual boards is time consuming. It hits so much imperfections

Also it looks like you two are reaching a point for doing hvac in the rv. I would strongly recommend you look into putting a mini split system into your remodel. It is a great option for heating and cooling all in one. Especially now that you have the rv all ripped apart. There are a lot of rvers going this route now and i have a feeling it is going to become a norm in the near future.

I have done a lot of remodeling and painting. It’s a learning curve. Don’t give up. As far as flat toe, no one thinks about VW bug. Mid to later 60s. As long as they’re a standard transmission, you can flat tow them and they’re very lightweight.
