First of all I like the video! If I may add one suggestion. When you install the cotter pins install them with the pin FWD to AFT just a safety measure with vibration there is a slight possibility that a pin or so could vibrate out. when the pin is installed FWD to AFT it will not vibrate off at all. All openings grill and cotter pins facing AFT. Again this was very easy to follow and a great video that helped me out for my installation two thumbs up!!

Good tutorial Joe. At +2:15, you stated: "now we're going to apply the lap sealant"! You had your bottle of IPA in your hand, and I started to chuckle, because it looked like your beer was going to be used as the sealant! Both of my class b's have the Fantastic vent fan w/rain sensor, so this was very interesting/informative to me...cheer sir & well done!

I want to share my review of the Fantastic Vent 3350 because my experience with the fan is anything but fantastic. I bought mine 18 months ago, as friends, who have an older model, said it was very good. However mine makes a lot of noise and pushes so little air that I can barely tell if I have it set to exhaust or blow. If I turn it up to get more airflow it becomes even noiser! The rain sensor closes the vent at night so I can only assume that it senses the night time moisture and closes even though it is NOT raining. My friend's older model seems to push more air than my newer model. I get much better & quieter airflow from my little Sirocco fan and it was only $!60 not over $600. Dometic agreed to replace the fan and the airflow improved a little but it is still very noisy AND the rain sensor closes the fan at really odd times like late afternoon. So we can't use the fan unless we manually open the cover. So in summary, I have found it an appallingly poor performing fan that is just not worth the money.

I'd be curious to know how the black held up. It seems like most (all?) of the negative Amazon reviews are for the smoked color, which probably has a different type of plastic so it can be see-through.

hey bud, just got one of theses vents, but it seems like my maxair 4500 fan cover opens way higher (12") than the vent cover allows for?..not sure if this will burn out the fan opening motor/electrics? did you encounter this problem with your fan cove? cheers

Just installed on a 2007 Fleetwood Providence with Fan-tastic fans. Had the same issue as I needed to climb down and drop the fans cover for the vent cover to be installed. Had it full up and running at the time. The fans cover will come up and contact the underside of the vent cover.

When they installed my fans they used 1/4 hex screws so I had to make an extra trip up and down the ladder after uncovering them. I only brought up the #2 phillips as mentioned in the video :-(
