I remember when you guys got your 5th wheel, you kept it such a secret, that I don't remember seeing a video like this one. So it was really nice to watch this video on you guys going to pickup your first Rockwood travel trailer. It was even nice seeing you put the hitch together onsite, in order for you to hook up to it. Nice unit, know y’all will enjoy it! We had Castle Rock tires on our 2018 Coachman 281RLDS Freedom Express. Had 1 tread separation failure at 8000 miles and another was ready to separate. Replaced all 4 with Goodyear Endurance tires & bought a TPMS. We’re on our first trip with the new tires this week.

For the most part, totally digging this trailer. I also like the one with the queen bed slide, but like this one to hide a couple lithium batteries in that forward compartment. I do not want a couple of $1000 battleborn batteries in that plastic box on the tongue, afraid that one day they may just fly away. Anywho, one thing that bothers me with this floor plan is the one rocker that faces the kitchen counter. Seems like it is blocked from the rest of the “scene”, like a penalty box. Do you find this to be the case? Otherwise, digging this, and see that it can be found fairly loaded for just under 30k.

Only thing I don't like is your heat vents and furnace are on the same side your sitting on outside. You will have the hot air and noise coming out and that will get annoying. Most have that vented out the other side.

Congratulations, the only piece of advice I can give you from one Rockwood owner to another. Get a set of stick on bubble levels, one for the front and one for the side. The front one is useful when leveling side to side, you have to go a half bubble high on the drivers side to compensate for when the slides go out. The other we use on the front corner leveling front to back.

Very happy for you! I know you have waited a long time to get the trailer, as I believe we ordered our trailers about the same time. So I will say this about the tires. We recently picked up our brand new Flagstaff about three weeks ago. I wasn't going to mess around with the cheap Castle Rock tires and had already ordered a set of Goodyear endurance. I had them swapped out 2 days after we got the trailer. The Goodyear tires were significantly heavier than the Castle Rock. The Castle Rock tires felt almost comically lightweight in comparison. I strongly encourage you to replace them. You know you're going to keep this RV for a very long time, just as I am going to keep mine. The investment in a Quality Tire is Paramount if you ask me. I was able to pick up my Goodyear tires for $480 shipped to my door. Since I sold the castle rocks as like new, I was still able to get a couple hundred dollars for them. My total investment in Quality Tires after installation was less than $350. I'm not even counting the rebates that I should receive from Discount Tire Direct. Enjoy the new rig!

Agreed. The Castle Rock sidewalls are a joke. I went with Carlisle Trail HD's but anything is better than the factory set. 👍

Good deal. Enjoy the camper. We've had zero issues with our Castle Rocks on our 2019 windjammer. They wear very evenly on these Torflex axles and I keep them at 65psi. 10k miles on them at this point. Nice interior color we've got Indigo too.

hey mike ,one more thing . on those stabalizer jacks, make sure the platforms are flat and not angled by uneven ground when you raise them as if they are not you will possibly hit the motor casing and possible break or bend the shoes. speaking from experience. ha,ha

You're going to love that storage up front. Just wanted to share what I did with ours. I got the idea from a forum. I went down to Home Depot and picked up a 4ft section Rubbermaid FastTrack. They have all kinds of hooks and accessories that can be mounted to the track and easily moved or removed with no tools. I used a couple self tapping screws in the aluminum amount the track and then I put a couple hooks on to hang various items. I have my power cord hanging, adapters, water hoses a couple other items all hanging up, not taking any space on the floor of the storage compartment. It's excellent. I can send you a picture if you're interested. I highly recommend doing the same thing, considering how tall the storage compartments are.

Nice unit! Truly hope it is everything you have searched for👌👍🏼‼️ As mentioned before, this model is one we looked at real close before finally selecting our Coachmen 281 RLDS Liberty Edition. Both have ups & downs...but to paraphrase you, "nothing is perfect, there is always trade offs". So, no more camping; cuz now you're "glamping". Previously we owned a Rockwood Roo...loved their quality! Concerning the suburban heater...I'd suggest using the anode rod as it'll save the tank from hard water buildup & corrosion. I just removed it in the fall to drain & flush my tank & only used a plug during winter storage. (Nothing I'm sure you don't already know...comments like this have earned me the superhero title of "Captain Obvious🤣‼️). Miserable here in IL again today...hope it's better for our first camping trip trip of the year this coming weekend as we head to Utah for the 150th celebration of the golden spike and the return of the UP's Big Boy. I've rambled...cuz I can't wait to get out there again. So, here's hoping to bump into you guys on e road sometime...ENJOY!

Yes there are a few jerks (you can use the Ignore function to block them from your feed) and occasionally people get a bit too passionate or personal with their posts, but I've found the moderators are good at weeding out the posts that violate the forum's rules and I've learned a ton from it. It's not nearly as bad as the truck forums.

@@BruceS42 usually it will release a sulfur smell if you have iron in your water as the rod interacts with it.

@@Rvdaydream I don't think I'd enjoy that. We must not have iron in our water here, or most other places we've lived for that matter. I do remember some sulfur smell in the water where I grew up, and I know that water had a lot of iron (left rust stains), so that makes sense. With an RV, moving around, I guess you don't know from one place to another how much iron is going to be in the water, or how hard the water will be, etc. Yet another thing to keep in mind for when we take the plunge. Thanks for the info!

Hi, did the maxair roof vent covers come with unit or did you ask for them, FYI the ones I have on my 5th wheel prevent the vent from opening all the way, kinda sorry I got them, but they do protect the vent, I was planning on buying this model before I found out truck was getting too rusty to tow anymore, so I get to see how this unit works thru you, thanks!

Castle Rock tires are a contracted brand that Lionhead tire and wheel bid out to be made. I could not tell pinpoint where they were made, so I'd bet it's China. I saw several Forest River owners calling them "China Bombs" 2-3 yrs ago. You can look at the DOT code then go to www.harriger.com/tires.htm and look up where they were made.

Congrats. Very nice unit. The day I picked mine up it started snowing right as I got to the dealer. Couldn't hook my hitch up properly because the solar prep was in the way of my brackets. So I didn't have any weight distribution and found out later that I was really tongue low when I finally got the hitch adjusted properly. It pulls like a dream now. Luckily I have a 1 ton dually so I got more than enough suspension for the unit I have right now.

Foam lubricant spray called bulb seal...I got Walmart 3 in one slid spray and so far am impressed
