Just found you videos, absolutely great, we have traveled all over 50 States in the last 30 years and visited as many Parks as we could and back roads, even all the way on Route 66 in the year 2000. Watching brings back many fantastic memories of the sights your country has to offer. Looking forward to your travels as we are now too old being in our late 70s 🇬🇧🇬🇧👍🏻👍🏻👏🏻👏🏻

What an amazing place, this is one of my favorite parks in the whole country. Came here to do some hiking several years ago, and remember seeing lots of brightly-colored lizards scampering around those rock formations.

At 5:32 of the video is exactly the spot where I had lunch in October of 2023. I was surrounded by Bighorn sheep just milling around and watching the few of us who were there. One of the rams scampered up the rock face to the side of the tables, found a spot to lie down on the rock face, and watched me as I ate lunch. Took lots of photos😎

Really interesting watching these videos in the UK. So different to Dartmoor national park where I live. We also have loads of suicidal sheep wandering all over the place 🙂

Ha ha, gotta love the sheep in the Lake District. It seems like every nook and cranny of the rural UK is otherworldly beautiful; as if nature spirits and fairies have done the place over - and they have!

Actually, Russ, you "caught" Elephant Rock at 3:36 in your excellent video. It's at the right edge of the screen about halfway up. It's hard to make out at first because it blends in with the background, but you can see the "body" to the right and the "trunk" to the left (a small natural arch). If you look carefully as the video runs, you can see thru the arch and the background rocks appear to move relative to the "Elephant". Once you spot it, it's pretty obvious.

We looked at that rock and figured someone had a lovely imagination. We saw several other suyoerior candidates for the names. However, 'twas a valuable experience. Got us to pay great attention to the rocks.

I've camped there twice. Both times in March. Sweatshirt season, one time it rained sideways and we hid out in our little travel trailer. It's a great place when it's cool weather, so just plan accordingly. You're going to Sturgis eh? I'm surprised as you spent so much time around poor Lake Mead... I didn't think you were going to Sturgis this year. Thanks for taking us along Russ.

One quick note: the signs around the park state that f you're there after sunset, you're trespassing. However, they understand that people love to take sunset photos there, and they understand that you need time to take your sunset photos and videos, and then leave the park in a reasonable amount of time.

AWESOME VIDEO !! One of your most beautiful and colorful documentaries up to now. It brings back so many fond memories of my trips to the Southwest. Concerning the spot where people take Marriage pictures (near the 7 sisters), my friend in Las Vegas told me jokingly "Elvis has left the building" ... Valley of Fire, along with Lake Tahoe up north near Carson City, are the two scenic jewels of Nevada. Now, to Mesquite and the Gorges of the Virgin River. I hope you can spare half a day to visit Zion Nat'l Park on your way north, it is loaded with tourists and heavy traffic but well worth a short stint, particularly the Tunnel and the Rock Formations. Stay safe, my friend ! RICHARD

🙋Hello Russ! That was colorful. White Dome Rock onto the red rock, beautiful. Looking further in the distant background I noticed a gray looking mountain. You're right about a great Picture Perfect Kodak moment, on a clear day with the blue sky. I'd say the sun rise/set would only enhance the beauty of these rocks. Looking forward to heading North & seeing Sturgiss again. Overwhelming little town.

Nice drive thru Valley of Fire! I toured the area in the 1990's & loved it. As I recall, it was before one of the roads was built, perhaps the white dome scenic highway. I walked several areas including elephant rock & the mousetrap. I noticed you have a Mercedes Sprinter; how do you like it? I assume you decked it out yourself. I'm not sure if you have a look at your setup inside but a tour would be appreciated. Thanks for pictures & commentary. Bob from Pa.

Thanks for the daylight tour. I’ve only been there at night. I used to stop there years ago between hikes in the Grand Canyon and Zion to eat late at night after a supply run in Vegas. I would eat at about midnight sometime at that pavilion at the entrance station or at one of the picnic areas. Now there are lots of nice parks in SW Vegas I stop at. I was curious what it looked like during the day. Might try camping there someday.

A lot of holes in the desert, and a lot of problems are buried in those holes. But you gotta do it right. I mean, you gotta have the hole already dug before you show up with a package in the trunk. Otherwise, you're talking about a half-hour to forty-five minutes worth of digging.
