While you are riding the ferry, you are technically on the state highway. At 14:49 Mt. Baker, it (Artist Point) is where all the outdoor and hunting scenes for the movie The Deer Hunter were filmed. MT. Shuksan reflecting in Picture lake on the way up is one of the most beautiful scenes in the world!

When I was in the Navy during the 80s I used to come here to party. After I got off work Friday afternoon I would hop the ferry. In Port Townsend there was a restaurant/bar called the Sea Galley. I was kind of a groupie to the duet called Femme Fatale. I initially met them in Oak Harbor. This was in essence my exercise program. Never had a shortage of regular dance partners at the Sea Galley. Good times.

First time I was in Port Townsend, I walked from a hitchhiked ride a little South of Town. As I rounded a bend going down the hill, I had a MAGNIFICENT View of Puget Sound. The blue water sparkling in the sunshine, the Salt Air, the boat docks, the old buildings down below,.....It was ENCHANTING.

Wow... good video!! Port Townsend is a Victorian seaport. PT gets only half the rain that Seattle does. Many times, it'll be dark, wet, and cold in Seattle, but warm, dry, and sunny up in PT. PT has the worst traffic of any small city in WA State. I'm amazed you were able to get around as easily as you did. A good strategy to get around the traffic is to park your vehicle in the Jefferson Transit Park and Ride, purchase a day pass, and take the Jefferson Transit buses to get around town. This works best on a weekday. Let the JT driver worry about the traffic. The movie An Officer And A Gentleman was filmed at Fort Worden. There's an excellent food coop by the 11:44 minute mark in your video, a great place to get a good meal, and to pick up food for later. Highway 20 continues south of PT and runs into Hwy 101 at Discovery Bay, marking the west end of Hwy 20. The next time you're at PT, head to the Historic red bell tower that overlooks downtown PT. What a VIEW!!! And the Uptown District has lots of old Victorian houses and buildings to enjoy.

Having been to all these places growing up in Seattle, one of the downsides of modern wide angle cameras and phones it is makes the mountains look tiny when they actually loom large over the Puget Sound and they kind of flatten out everything. It is even more beautiful in person!

Love ferries. Reminds me of Galveston ferry when I was a kid in TX. You get used to the cold...its like living on the Northern CA coast & the Pacific. In Monterey area we get N, W, & NW winds usually blowing those Pacific breezes at us & some are pretty cold. It's common to see people with sweaters or jackets on & still wearing their shorts or cutoffs. & Guess that cold for you🥶 would be like the heat for them🥵 Also loved seeing the tall trees in the Ft Worden St Pk-windswept from all the ocean breezes. Wonder if it blows all the time there or intermittently like when a front comes thru. Noticed some slight swells/whitecaps when you were on the ferry. Just loved this video & all the beauty in it & the old buildings & architecture.

When I first saw this I thought you were going from Port Townsend to Whidbey Island. But it was just the reverse. And if you did this just a day ago you got the best day to go right after the fires and smoke had gone and we actually had some sun. Glad you enjoyed our little town but not so little anymore and definitely not the same as it used to be. If you make another video you should do some other places and do something on that. Like the little tours over by the lighthouse or maybe the trails you can go onto over in Port Ludlow lots of little Trails like the Larry Scott Trail and things that would be interesting for people to see
