Greetings from the Train Lord in South Australia a long way away from this epic action. I have thoroughly enjoyed going along your journey since I found you in Cheyenne. If I had known that Washington State was so beautiful in 1988 during my 1969 VW campervan trip to Alaska I would certainly have come to this place. I have enjoyed your style of presentation with the camera set up on the windscreen to show the road and forests etc., including the tune every time you fly the drone. Well done!

My cousins sister-in-law married Van Riper after her husband died. She used to help run the place. Actually she ran the place while Van Riper tinkered around the place. After he died she sold it and moved to Port Angeles. My aunt and uncle used to run a charter boat up in Neah Bay back in the 70's and also lived in Clallam Bay and retired to Port Angeles. They knew the Van Ripers as well. Fond memories of going to the Peninsula as a kid.

That was a prime spot in the campsite. The scenery is still stunning. It was fun to watch the birds go for the scraps of the fish. Too bad that you did not get to the very peak in Washington. But what you did was great. Thanks for taking me along of this vacation. It sure passed a lot of hours during the time of the shut-down. Stay safe and happy adventuring. I am curious to see what way you take to go back to Arizona.

What a treat to find out I missed this video day before yesterday with no new video up today (Thursday). It's late & the guy from A-1 sewer just left from cleaning out my sewer drains. Caught it early so no major damage or back up. Oh the joy of home ownership. Russ for a guy that doesn't like crowds I think you handled that very well.

Another great video!! Fun fact: every mile you go west on 101 out of Port Angeles, you gain another inch of rain per year. The land you saw on the other side of The Strait is the west coast of Vancouver Island. The Native Americans often went across the strait. To them, the North Coast of the Olympic Peninsula and the West Cosat of VI is considered to be a single land. The next time you come this way, take a side trip over to Ozette Lake. When in Forks, head out to Rialto Beach. I promise you'll enjoy the spectacular coastal wilderness scenery. Further down on 101, stop at Ruby Beach. Yes, the smoke was definitely not a pretty sight and it created very unhealthy AQI readings here. Over in Sherman Pass, which you visited in your previous video, the AQI was in the hazardous range and so was Spokane. Portland and much of the Willamette Valley were in the hazardous range too. At one point last week, the smoke covered all of Vancouver Island and all of the WA coast and the North Olympic coast. And it extended 1000 miles off the coast of WA and OR. I'm happy that you were able to see as much as you did on this visit. On your next visit DO visit the Hoh River rain forest. They get over 140 inches of rain a year. You'll be utterly amazed by the heavy moss on the trees.
@bonnieerickson85674 жыл бұрын
Not sure if you mentioned that the large body of water stretching from Port Townsend to Neah Bay is the Straits of Juan DeFuca. A beautiful state park just west of Port Angeles is Salt Creek. RV sites overlook the Straits, and "tide pooling" at the park offers a chance to carefully touch a variety of marine creatures. I've enjoyed the entire 2020 Virtual Summer Trip so far, and thank you for allowing us to hop a ride!

Truly beautiful area used to be home for me, North Cascades, Olympic National Forest and Sekiu surrounds. You must spend a lot of time here. So much rain to sleep thru before the most gorgeous days on the planet in between rains (year round).😎 But it's worth it unless you try living here year round😱

The green there comes from lots of Rain but when it is beautiful as this day it is most pleasant to see and be there! A Fishing license was not required, 1960's when I lived near there in Pacific Beach and Port Orchard! Oysters and butter clams on the Puget Sound and Razor Clams on the coast with a no license 20 limit! But, they added a steal head permit and then many people moved to the State and things changed. Around 1963 I caught a Sturgeon in the Chehalis river at Aberdeen and King Salmon out of Grays Harbor! A lot of shake splitters there then with mostly timber workers! Its a great memory as well as many other things! Armageddon will change everything for the much better with Freedom by law enforcement and removal of dirty politicks. Ron PTL USA

A lot of people take their RVs up there to lease a charter fishing trip. The locals keep theirs there as well when the seasons running.. The highschool sports teams from Neah Bay travel clear across the peninsula.. Either 112 or 101-104 to play games as far as us in Kingston to the ferry across to Edmonds.. so 4 hours each way. Have spent many many hours with their drivers. And a lot of times all the parents drive themselves as well.. empties our their town!

I paused this video close to the beginning, where I believe that you said, that you were turning onto (113). Earlier - as on other videos- you mentioned Hwy. 101, & that makes me think, of the highly successful group (Hwy. 101), as I am also a musician, with some moderate (weekend) sucess, in the 60's, 70's, 80's & 90's, besides other careers. Thanks again for the great 2020 virtual vacation. Sorry its coming to an end. I will have to be content with past summer vacations, by you, some of which I have viewed.
