I was born and raised in The Dalles, Oregon. Moved to Washington state when I was in 4th grade. This brought so many memories, Thank You!

The Dalles was known as 'The Point of Decision" for covered wagons traveling on the Oregon Trail. When they reached there they had to decide between putting their wagons on rafts and floating down the Columbia River or driving them over Mt. Hood on the Barlow Trail. Both were terribly dangerous. Highly recommend The Columbia Gorge Discovery Center & Museum in The Dalles. Loving your videos Russ!!!

The coast mountain range and than the Cascade mountains scrape all the moisture out of the clouds which is why you go from lush green thick forests to barron high desert in just a few miles. It is amazing.

The museum parking lot was beautiful. The Columbia river to the right looked so picturesque. Thanks

It is Mount Hood not Mount Adams

I was looking for this comment. Mt. Hood is in Oregon and Mt. Adams is in Washington. They are only 90 miles apart.

We went down the Lola pass to Lewiston then to the river. Got stuck in the country cause the map was off. The map had a road that didn't go through. It took us an hour but we found the highway to Portland.🤣🤣

As they say “been there, done that”. Years ago My buddy and I rode our motorcycles to Anacortes, Washington, from Oregon. Then we rode east across the North Cascade Highway (Hwy 20), then down to Maryhill State Park. From there south to Crater Lake and then back toward Salem, Oregon. We had great weather all the way. Waiting to see your next video to see if any changes. Love that wind.

That was fun. Wind will blow you off the cliff. Ha. There must be locks at that dam if there is barge traffic using the river. Happy trails.
