What a beautiful state capitol. Absolutely magnificent with the marble pillars and floors. Very tastefully done. Love the fountain and beautiful service memorials. They truly appreciate their servicemen and women. The music was very tastefully selected. Loved it.

1:43:08 From my Minuteman days in the 80s, there were 150 missiles at Ellsworth AFB near Rapid City before they were deactivated. Other bases were at Minot AFB in ND (150 missiles, still active) Grand Forks AFB near the ND/MN state line (150 missiles deactivated) Malmstrom AFB in Montana (100 missiles, still active) F. E. Warren AFB near Cheyenne, WY (150 missiles, still active) and Whiteman AFB in central Missouri (150 missiles, deactivated). One of each launch facilities controlled a "flight" of 10 missile silos.

Thank you so much for this it really brings back memories. I first moved for the US and Ft Pierre in '89. You drove past my old house and old 2nd grade school. The road where I got jumped by 3rd graders lol. We used to run wild all around the old downtown there, it was historic then. Would jump on the trains as they slowly ran though town and got in all kinds of trouble. Just had to be home when the street lights came on. Only lived there a couple years but I got a good solid grounding and taste of what America was all about.

Just found this video and didn't have a chance to watch the whole thing. Amazing tour of the Courthouse, Museums, Old Homesteads & towns, Enjoyed the drive through the badlands, & seeing all its beautiful colors. We spent a few weeks there. Went through the Black Hills, Bad Lands, in the Bad Lands we come upon a town with 3 buildings, 1 was a trading post, the other was a bar that just opened after 90 years with a dirty floor, a 2 room school also used as church, cemetery. There was another bar a few miles away with a pool table, and a live horse walking around inside. Wall Drug was something to visit, and we stayed in a mini town Wasta where if you left the door open a rabbit, would hop in and hang out. A person's home was the grocery store with 5 double-sided shelves. Maybe 50 people in town. Wanda and her husband, the owners of the 5 room motel would invite you to their table for diner. This was in 91.

Casey Tibbs (the rodeo museum at 30:27) inspired a one-season TV show in the 1960s: "Stoney Burke" starring Jack Lord as a rodeo competitor seeking the "Golden Buckle" award. Tibbs produced the rodeo sequences (also pulled some stunt double duty) and served as technical advisor for a number of episodes.

That bell near the state capitol was probably made right here in CT in a small town we nicknamed "Belltown" USA. They are still in business today but In a different town. They had a fire two or three years ago. The Liberty Bell was also cast there and all bells in state capitols, etc. CT would be a great place to visit just for that alone.

Wow!, thank you for the tour of the capitol, the flaming fountain (yes, you can throw a lit match into it and it will light on fire as its a natural gas well), the capitol, and at the 25:21 minute mark the Conoco station. That conoco is where I saw my first tornado when I was 6 years old. I remember my mom pulling over in that Conoco parking lot (looked waayy different back in 1975) and trying to point out to me the tornado. That triggered a flood of memories. Thank you. =)
