Hi Guys! We have the sticker map on our slide and we really love it. We received a scratch off map as a gift, and agree it is very messy! Not always practical, but loved the thought behind it. What a big spider, that would have scared me (Lareka) too! We can't imagine being able to go through a drive thru pharmacy hooked up. That was awesome! We just went to our first Buc-ee's ever in Texas City, Texas. We really enjoyed it. As always, thanks for the great video! We love watching your adventures! Stay safe! 💚

We have a Sabre, can't remember what model, 5th wheel with rear living, middle bunk room, upper loft, and king bedroom. After having previous RVs this is our favorite. We love the rear living room. The extra bedrooms are nice as our daughters and grandchildren often go with us. We have even had our sons stay, too. We can sleep about 8 people comfortably. But a toy hauler would be nice for the bikes. I just don't care for the living room area as much as a rear living.

@robertcolpitts45348 ай бұрын
Great video, y'all! The Amarillo Buc-ee's will be the first and only one in the Texas Panhandle. When you look at fifth-wheels (commonly known as 5ers), you will be restricted to trailers with a GVWR less than 12,000#. Take the 5er tow rating of the truck and multiply that number by 75% to 80%. That will be the more realistic tow rating for your truck. If the weights go over that, you need a larger truck (i.e., a 3500 SRW or a DRW). Using a general "Rule-of-Thumb" for estimating the pin-weight of a given 5er at 20% to 22% of the trailer's GVWR, a 5er with a GVWR of 11,000# will have a pin weight of between 2200# and 2420#. Next, weigh your loaded-for-travel truck (with everything you will be carrying in the truck when you head down the road + full diesel and DEF tanks) at a C.A.T. Scale at a local truck stop. Subtract the total weight of the truck (front axle weight + rear axle weight = truck weight) from the truck's GVWR and you have your actual remaining payload. Then and only then look at 5ers. The 2500 HD trucks really aren't suitable for towing large 5ers though many do it. You're at the upper limit of the actual capabilites of the truck's suspension. A smaller 5er would probably work just fine. Also, be careful making modifications to the truck's or trailer's suspension to improve the ride. You could be voiding the manufacturer's warranty without realizing it. Perhaps keeping what you have is a better idea. Safe travels and God bless y'all! Bob and Dottie

First the spider would have terrified my wife. Second the 2500RL is great in travel mode. Third did you make any video showing how you secure the bikes? Fourth we traded our 2500RL in for Brinkley Z3100. You can put a bike rack on the back hitch point. The payload of your 3/4 ton is way too low for a toy hauler. The pin weight would exceed your payload. It's hard to find tri-tip in the Midwest. That's a west coast thing.

No grand design crap! They're having trouble with frame flex due to bad welding and won't stand behind their product. Don't believe me, it's all over youtube. Nice job on the spider!
@debyarger30848 ай бұрын
The grand designs that are having trouble with frame flex are the 40 plus feet 5th wheels. Not the tow behinds,or smaller 5th wheels. So maybe do your research before you comment.
@OverTheHillAdventures8 ай бұрын
Hi Bert, I appreciate your comment but it is completely false. Grand Design does not make the frames. Lippert makes the frames for Grand Design. Lippert makes just about every frame for every brand. We have witnessed Grand Design fix folk’s rigs on the spot. Unfortunately we only get to see a few on KZbin that have a bad experience out millions of Grand Design sold in America and Canada. Most of the frame flex are found on the drop frames. Most of them are out of warranty or second and third owners. Here is the problem, there is no control how much folks put in their trailer. Most of them are overloaded. You couple that with going on the highway at 80mph. We appreciate your comment but it is not what it seems. I told one of close friends the exact same thing. We love Grand Design we are buying another one. NOT A DROP FRAME! Unfortunately, Lippert has the monopoly on everything. If they don’t own it they will. Hope this makes sense Bert. If you had a bad experience I am sorry to hear that but it is definitely not the norm for Grand Design. Blessings and safe travels, Stan and Rhonda
