I am a widow, 78 and travel with my Australian Labradoodle. Late husband and I had RV's since mid 70's. Sold our RV when he passed away in 2017, but 4 yrs. later, bought a small Class C. A different life now, but love being able to do what I love. So many women's RV groups to join and have rallies and such to attend.

Wonderful tips for women! My friend was blown away when I drove up, and backed into our site beside them. She didn’t realize women could really do that and now she’s encouraged to try!

Great tips. The one thing I would add would be to join a camping group and travel with them until you get comfortable. Lynn and Danny

Good tips. I started in 2004, in a Class A and towing my car. The first thing I did was attend a Life On Wheels program in PA. Best thing I ever did. I don’t know if they even have them anymore, but it was worth it. Don’t let anyone tell you you can’t do it solo. You can!! I’m in a van now and still enjoying it a lot!

Those are great tips and they count for senior guys traveling solo as well. Thank you!

This was great jennifer! My husband can not go quite as often as me due to still working (he is 70 now) and he has 6 weeks. I have gone for two nights within an hour away but I want to go further away. I get nervous to go further. So great tips.

Another KZbinr advised if traveling alone, still set out two camp chairs.

Great travel trips. Love the 330 rule. We love your great tips. We are considering switching RVs from a travel trailer to a Class C to make it less work physically and avoid the towing chores. Wondered if you can offer any opinions on the pros and cons of class Cs. Thanks again. Cheers,

When my husband died, I took our Class B for a month long solo trip around the Maritime provinces of Canada. Family and friends thought I was crazy - and I was, crazy with grief, but that trip was healing for me, and I had no qualms about going out solo. I have generally spent at least a couple of months each year on the road, boondocking as much as possible, or staying with friends I want to visit. I am so grateful my husband left me the RV.

Great tips! Using your female intuition is the best way to stay safe. Escapees RVers club is a great place to find friends and traveling companions. They also have classes at their rallies on how to drive, park, do repairs, etc.

I really liked the tip to put out men’s boots! I think I’d add a little fresh mud to them, too! 😂

Comment Good tips for traveling alone except for comment about putting out a large pair of shoes. That has become a dead give away for a scared female traveling alone. Two chairs are good.

Aw! Good point! Two chairs is very common!

1:30 YES! I feel 100% safe and protected even with my 42lb bulldog named Lily😂 Dogs know!!! they always do, she knows if someone is nearby even in the middle of the night she warns me someone is close-by with a little nudge, I trust her instincts more than mine somedays.

This is so helpful. I'd like to know about RV'ing but staying in a city where there are no camps. Is that stealth RV'ing? This is what I want to do. Thank you.
