Hello. My name is Greg Cravens and I am a part owner and VP of 360 Products. Thank you for your purchase of the Siphon and your instructional video. If I may, I'd like to clarify a couple of things. 1) the screw holes are a little harder to get to because of quality, not a lack thereof. The top portion of the vent is oversized in part to provide 60% more shading for the base during the day in order to prevent UV degradation of the Dicor sealant. Our vents are manufactured with high grade polycarbonate, not cheaper ABS, and they contain UV inhibitors for longer life. 2) As for the RV Industry, I know first hand how their thought process works. My brother, the President of 360 Products has over 35 years of experience in the Industry. As a Factory Rep. (and a RV'er himself) he dealt with odor complaints and black tank issues all the time. When the opportunity came along to take the 360 to the consumer it was a no brainer. I am the OEM guy. I call on manufacturers to get them to put the Siphon on as standard item so that customers don't have to. Some do. Some don't. To date we have 17, 5 are mobile restroom makers, that have taken the extra step and pay the higher cost to make their products odor free. Our name and phone numbers are on our site, www.360productsinc.com . We stand behind our product and are thrilled with every one purchased because we know that it will enhance the RV experience for the user. Not only does it eliminate odors, it also allows a healthier living environment by exhausting hydrogen sulfide, methane, ammonia, and other harmful gases. Again, thank you. Greg

Thank you for your explanation. I have to say that after using this for a month, it works as advertised. I have had no odors in my RV whatsoever.

+gerg1163 You should state on the packaging that your 360 Siphon is NOT universal. The water colar does NOT fit all pipe stack..as Sandra pointed out above,..we just went through the same nightmare after cutting our stack down to 5/8. We would have to cut our pipe stack down, flush with the roof to add a PVC insert to try to make this work. We drove an hour each way too pick this thing up. Should have done more research...I would have found Sandra's post before purchasing.

I thought that if I ever got an RV this would be one of my first upgrades. I purchased a Rockwood GeoPro and this vent cap comes standard on all GeoPro's now. There must be something to it.

It is a pretty common item these days on a lot of RVs. The RV industry isn't going to spend the extra money for such a device if it they don't have to, so I agree with you.

Thanks for the helpful info. Does it work?

I used "ALL DICOR" as the seasonal seal underneath and around the outer and top of Vent edges. Also had to shorten the Tapered Vent "white insert" since it was too tall when placed onto the black abs, even after the abs was shortened to the 5/8" suggested.

We purchased this item and found out when attempting to install it that the little funnel only fits 2008 and newer. The older RV's are the SAME SIZE as the funnel. Called the company (how we found out fits 2008 and newer) and he said match the ends together and glue it. Doesn't sound like that would be too sturdy... Found that a piece of PVC cut to use as a coupling to join the funnel to the black piece coming out of the roof fits pretty good. Going to try to assemble it using the PVC to stabilize the union between the funnel and black pipe when gluing the edges. Hope this works...

Just installed one on mine found the best tool to scrap old dicor is one of those harbor freight vibrating multi tools with the scraper blade it comes with. it peels it off like a hot knife through butter and they are only $15 on sale . also scraped the old dicor from around my Fantastic fan it was about 1 1/2 inch thick just peeled it off in strips . beats using a putty knife use the same tool to put wall switches in my trailer took 30 second to cut the hole with the wood cutting blade

After a year are you still satisfied with the product?

It works great. We have never had any odors.

Well I'll have to order one too because it smells in here hahaha.

I also installed this unit. BUT it looks like you did not use the short 3/4" rolled up paper backed sealer / tape that came inside the vent ?
@RVProject9 жыл бұрын
ECRVS Videos If you are referring to the Butyl Tape, yes - I used it. In fact, I had to buy additional tape as there was not enough tape included with the vent.
@ingamoon66636 жыл бұрын
Did the Butyl tape go on the device or on the roof. Just wanted to know as I may be adding one to my vent and I've never used butyl tape before.
@RVProject6 жыл бұрын
Either way as long as it is "sandwiched" between the roof and under the mounting flange of the vent.
@jwessonsr75037 жыл бұрын
My back kitchen window was also leaking. Noticed when i pulled it out to reapply the butil tape the opening was cut way to big which caused a premature leak. Had to put 2 strips of tape to seal and a few spacers on the bottom to hold the window center if the hole. Nothing i can do about that saw mistake. Lol

The RV manufactures don't care about the details of quality construction. They only need the product to last until it sold. Most plastics used are not UV resistant, very sad!

any thoughts on adding a small solar panel and electric computer fan to suck the odors out?
@RVProject7 жыл бұрын
I think I have seen such a vent. However, obviously it would not work at night.
@Duhman7404 жыл бұрын
I have read and watched quite a few reviews of the solar vent fans. none of them good.
@DawnNLN-ee2kh4 жыл бұрын
Hell, just install a Hoover Vacumn cleaner in the vent!

I think the idea behind the angled screws is to provide more of an anchor than a straight driven screw.
@ingamoon66636 жыл бұрын
I think the RV industry was just not thinking and when they realized the only way to get the screw in would be to angle it, it would have meant reinventing the device so the cap could be removed. I am sorry to say that my experience with the RV industry unfortunately is that they do slipshod work and whatever it takes to keep profits high. Hate to be negative but am stating the reality of my experience.
