We got an epilogue for RWBY Volume 9, which is a sneak peek at what is to come in Volume 10! It reveals a lot about characters mental states, how the reunion of Team RWBY and everyone will happen as well as revealing the return of a fan favorite character...

Tin foil hat theory: Humanity united behind Ruby against Salem. Salem gets all the relics and summons the gods. They show up, take one look at the world and go, "Oh wow. Look at those humans working together and caring for each other even in the face of total annihilation. Wow! Great job, Salem! You did it!" They snap their fingers, end the curse and Salem's just left with a surprised Pikachu face.

Raven showing up makes even more sense with Ruby have that vision of her mother leaving with Raven.

If Volume 10 is greenlit, the first episode needs to be kind of an in between Vol. 8 and Vol. 10 for everyone else. Raven and Tai learning what happened, the beginnings of Amity's refitting, etc. Just fill in the gaps a bit and then end with RWBY and Jaune refining with them to prepare for the rest of the volume.

Whatever goodwill Raven has worked up by helping Qrow is going away as soon as Ruby confronts her about Summer's last mission.

Oh, that'll be sweet if Raven DOES decide to come to Vacuo. Raven is a maiden after all, an open target for Cinder. That's good that the animatic touches on the effects of recovering from alcohol, in Willow's case.

I genuinely cannot wait (and hope) to see Raven finally return in Vol 10! It would be really nice to see her try to reconcile with everyone, especially Yang. And to see her and Ruby have a talk and finally get more details on Summer's final mission. Needless to say there's a lot to look forward to in the next Volume! :)

After watching the epilogue, I definitively want to see somewhere in V10 an interaction between Raven, Tai and Qrow. I'm curious as to what will happen when Ruby finds out that all the people around the world thought she and her team were dead, and the implications of her coming back.

I can see why they originally intended this sequence to be part of volume 9, because it follows very well with the themes we saw in Ruby's emotional struggles in volume 9.

Hit it on the head with the small acts of kindness. Ruby learned this from the Tree, and I believe it’s a far more important a lesson than anyone thinks. The downfall of Salem isn’t the big fights, but the little victories behind the scenes. These small acts of kindness will eventually grow, and soon, they can help in the biggest of ways.

I’m currently in Austin at RTX - it’s one thing to hear the animatic described - it’s quite another to hear Elizabeth Maxwell turn all of her sizable voice talent towards delivering one of the most powerful and gut punching monologues in the series to date. She literally broke the whole room.

While Volume 10 has not been greenlit yet they did start writing the script for it so odds are good. But they also announce that they are giving Red vs Blue a final season so this project might push back any news regarding RWBY.

Man can't wait to see what the animatic looks like when fully animated, reunion feels. I also hope Weiss coming back can get Winter back into gear, she's no doubt felt the guilt losing Penny and Team RWBY+J.

Ngl I was way more invested in this unfinished epilogue than the entirety of Volume 9. Can’t wait for Volume 10, hopefully it doesn’t take forever to come out.
