"Ozpin would have told them with time." Uh dude... no,, hard disagree. The fact that Oz kept lying and not telling them important info (he outright lies and says that he used up all the questions before sealing the lamp away when it had two questions left), to the point where his most trusted confidant in Qrow was left in the dark makes it clear he was never going to willingly tell the truth. They had to use the Relic.

Magic relic. Can answer any question. anything except the future. And they wasted it on what is ozpin hiding from them. they could have used the relic to force him to tell them without actually asking, but they actually use it for the question. something that, once they use the last question, cant be used again for A HUNDRED YEARS. Information they could get from this thing could help them defeat salem but literally space googling how to defeat her, but no, lets learn about the past.

@@FullTimeNaozari you can't force the truth out of somebody if while he's trapped in a different person's body. Do you really think they would torture Oscar? I mean, even killing Oscar wouldn't do anything, and Ozpin can just reincarnate and nobody will know which human will be his next host. Adding to that, the next time Ozpin comes across the group(which would eventually happen in a story like this) he will even be less likely to tell them anything. They asked "please" and "pretty please" at least a dozen times already, at which point are you going to search for an alternate method? Never? Not a chance with your life on the line and - what we presume to be the absolute evil is - Salem as your ultimate opponent. No, in this instance they have every right to know what he outright refuses to tell them. He's been keeping everything close to himself, only revealing parts of it every now and again, when they might be uncovered or simply deduced by the group eventually. And as to why they would want to investigate Ozpin's secret? Well, how about you have this immortal wizard being that was literally created by the gods and has been fighting Salem ever since the dawn of days, yet he refuses to drop any hint as to how they ended up in the state that they are? Do you not think that even with the three question limitation that would be some of the most vital information ever? Yes, it might not provide a straight up answer to the question of "how do we kill Salem?", but chances are that there could be clues hidden in their past, after all, this is a fantasy story and the solution to killing your opponent is not always pumping him/her full of lead.

@@FrontlinerCdV if you think torture is how they would force it out of him you don't understand how people work. Ozpin very clearly didn't wnat them to use the artifact, not because he wanted to keep secrets, but because its A MYSTICAL ARTIFACT. I'm sorry you can't grasp the idea of an object that can answer any question and how powerful something like that is. The team is not any closer to defeating salem asking the question they did so they wasted it in their ultimate goal.

@@FullTimeNaozari How do you propose they do that? Asking nicely? Oh no, they tried that, didn't they? How about gaining his trust? Well, Leo did that and Ozpin made a case for not telling them even IF they ever were in an important position. You are not getting an answer from Ozpin ever, period. With that out of the way, if I was in the situation that the team is in, I would behave in exactly the same way that team Rwby is behaving: Either you spill the beans, right now or at the next safe location, that's the only concession I'll make, or I'll find out what you've been hiding from us the entire time with the help of the Relic. And I will keep the Relic with me now because you are making a lot of efforts to dissuade us from finding out. One way or another I'll learn the truth, and it's up to you whether or not it comes at the cost of the Relic's question as well as our trust, or if it comes at the cost of you being emberassed/ashamed/whatever the reason for your secrecy may be. The choice is all yours. I'm just acting based on that. I'm not downplaying how powerful the relic's ability is AT ALL, I'm merely relating to team RWBY position far more than Ozpin's. Yes, knowing the truth might not help, but I can't ever know that if Ozpin isn't going to tell me.

@@FullTimeNaozari its hard asking a question if you dont know anything about a subject. and it has been proven that ozpin is rather economical with the truth. as for the waisted question: i do also think its wasted yes, but it gives the viewer (or atleast me) some anxiety, wich is something that i want in a show. to make me feel something

You're right, Ozpin would have told them the truth in time... despite the fact that this episode clearly established that not only is he keeping secrets even from Qrow, one of his closest allies, but that he has repeatedly lied about about the relics and who knows what else so that nobody would learn said secrets; even going so far as to beg Ruby and (by the looks of it) try to attack her to keep from learning. But yeah, despite all of this, I'm sure Ozpin would've happily told them everything if they would've just been patient...

He wasnt attacking her, he was trying to grab the artifact. And if she used the artifact as leverage, im sure he would have told them what they wanted to know. It wouldn't be everything, and it wouldn't be the full truth, but it would be enough to not warrant WASTING A MAGIC QUESTION RELIC getting the info. But, no im sure the teenage girls have better judgement than the centuries old reincarnated magic man

Think of it this way: Let's say Ruby DID use the relic as leverage. If Ozpin gave them an explanation, there's no way Team RWBY (or all of us for that matter) would've been able to know if he was actually telling the truth, or if he was just trying to silver-tongue his way out again. That's what all of this is about. They don't know if they can trust him or not yet. Considering the lies he told so far, they don't know what else he may or may not have lied about. They're confused. Scared. Angry. And before they can decide whether or not to trust him again, they not only have to know the truth, but they have to KNOW THAT THEY KNOW the truth! And the best way (possibly the only way) they could know for sure was to ask Jinn. So I personally think "What is Ozpin hiding from us" was a good question to ask, all things considered. I still like Ozpin and I personally feel most of his actions are justified. But that doesn't change the fact that his actions right now could potentially push away the only people willing to help him. He may be wise and he may have centuries under his belt, but that doesn't mean he's incapable of making mistakes (as he's admitted more than once).

If Ozpin didn't trust "Qrow"; his most loyal follower whom he wllingly gave some of what little power he had left too what on earth makes you think he would ever tell RWBY? Not only did Oscar explicetely state that Ozpin did not want RWBY to know and was scared of them finding out, to the point of lying about using all the questions being used up and even outright attempting to attack Ruby. This tells me Ozpin not only did not tell anyone about Salem but intended to never tell anyone at all. Had Oscar not told them about Jinn and had they not used that question they would never have found out and given the trust issues they had with him right then getting the truth was the only option to move forward.

I was really interested in seeing your points...until you made your Bumblebee fan comment. That shows either poor taste in humor or you being really narrow minded. What is so terrible being a Bumblebee fan that you wish ill to ALL of them? I mean I get being annoyed by the extreme fans but those exist in every fandom. Just accept that different people are reading into interactions differently. Also having Sun there would just be dragging him along for no reason. I agree his part in the past Volumes was pretty good (apart from early Volume 4 stuff) but now he just has no place in the story. Also having him focus on his own team and going to Vacuo is good character development and ensures he will come back at least when the story moves to Vacuo.
