6:36 Cinder's semblance is she can superheat something and then control it. Basically telekinesis, but you burn everything. She does this with dust turned to glass against Amber. This semblance has a lot of room for creativity.

It's the same body, but Oscar can mentally be shielded from the pain for a bit. When Oscar comes back he'll feel any permanent, it's just like when your unconscious. You can take damage but not notice it, when you wake up again you don't feel all that pain that happened you only feel the lasting effects. I'm not great at explaining but I hope that makes sense. Also, Hazel had a slight side glance to Oscars words. Very curious

-Chapter 6: Midnight RWBY quote of the chapter _“Without you, I am nothing. But because of you, I am everything!” (Cinder)_ -Cinder’s backstory This almost makes me feel truly sorry for Cinder. And then I remembered that this is the same woman who killed Amber, killed Pyrrha, set up Penny to be killed, organized the fall of Beacon, almost brought about the fall of Haven, almost killed Weiss, killed Vernal, killed that random woman at Haven and again tried to kill Penny. A sympathetic villain is a villain nonetheless… It is interesting to see and realize where her mannerisms came from. Her line, ‘without you, I am nothing’, which was originally thought was due to Salem was actually before that. So it was more or less a recited line for her. Just like phrases around her like ‘know your place’ shows further her influence or rather, how she was influenced. Nevertheless, she did have a very raw deal. Mistreated from her family (?) early on, sold as a slave to another where she was mistreated and abused further (A note of reference to the Disney animation _Cinderella_ where the cat, Lucifer, tracked dusty paws throughout the just cleaned floor), it’s no wonder she was planning on kill them earlier, but Rhodes, who noticed the bad treatment, was trying to turn her away from that path and a bit of hope, to train her as a Huntress and to hold on until she was of age to leave and be free. Rhodes Semblance: Metal skin Weapon (s): Dual mace, dual sword And she proceeded to do so, becoming stronger and dealing with the abuse as much as possible. And aside from her use of dual blades, there is something else of note. In the End of the Beginning, Cinder is seen holding several weapons on her back, much like how Rhodes was seen. Also, Cinder’s use of a bow and arrows may be attributed to the fact that she didn’t follow the usual standard for Huntresses in making their own weapon, which usually is also a gun. So Cinder may have just simply opt to use a bow along with her other weapons, probably because she didn’t have the resources to do so. It’s just like with Jaune as he didn’t build his weapon and merely used and later upgraded what he had and knew. Meanwhile, Rhodes was still giving her hope, letting her know that it would only be a few more years and then she would be free. But events didn’t go right. Also, in some ways, she is a reverse-Blake; she didn’t want to run. And in line with her usual pattern, she didn’t want to wait either. That impatience is what ultimately leads her to her hunger for power. And murder… Initially, I believed that she had just become resistant to the shocks and that may be partly true (a quote from _Rambo II: “You are no stranger to pain.”_ ). But if you look at the silhouette around her, you can see that her aura is active, so it wasn’t hurting her at all. It shows one of the true tragedies of Cinder; that even though Rhodes taught her, her true teacher was the pain she suffered. That music is awesome. Seriously, it means something when a song-track keeps repeating itself in your head for the day. Also, Rhodes must have taught her really well for her to be as good as she was to be a noticeable threat. But Rhodes dropped his guard (he wasn’t trying to kill her) and Cinder killed him. That last gesture of his reminded me greatly of Itachi’s finger poke gesture to Sasuke in _Naruto: Shippuden_ just before he died. Almost sorry… -Oscar’s/Ozpin’s plan Hazel was taking it easy on him? As bad as Oscar looked, its true enough considering Hazel could break him like a twig without effort. And it looks like that now it’s getting to the point to were Oscar’s and Ozpin’s thought are now in synch. Whether that is a good thing or a bad thing is kind of up in the air. Still, it is a striking thought that Ozpin says that they could find his way out of their current situation, yet it’s Oscar who is deciding to remain, working to find a way to undermine Salem. Ozpin’s conversation with Hazel pretty much capsulate his war with Salem, why, despite knowing that he can’t destroy Salem, he continues to fight, why he created the Huntsmen academies and trains Huntsman and Huntresses. _”Someone has to try!”_ A thought, with almost all of Salem’s henchmen present, Oscar could use the Relic to call Jinn and use the last question to show them all what Salem is truly plotting. -Salem’s entourage Salem in her throne with the Hound at her side reminded me of Hela with Fenris in _Thor: Ragnarok._ And the arrangement is of note as well, particularly where Mercury is stationed. He is put next to Cinder, Hazel and Tyrian while Emerald and Neo are further off, showing a difference in class. Before this, Mercury would be stationed with Emerald behind Cinder. But now that he is next to her, seemingly as a peer/equal to the other four. Cinder’s punishment was expected (heck, she expected it), but was surprising (at first) was that it was brief and Salem granted what Cinder wanted in the first place. But then you can see that it is in fact manipulation. She did earlier say that Cinder is more valuable than a pawn. And Salem’s methods are not just fear alone, not strictly. And it isn’t limited to just Cinder alone. _“It’s important not to lose sight of what drives us. Love, justice reverence…”_ _”The hearts of men are easily swayed.”_ And Salem knows Cinder well enough to know how her mind works when it comes to her desire for power. In either event, she wants the Relics and Cinder wants the power of the Maidens. Everyone there is following Salem for their own reasons, not knowing what Salem’s ultimate goal really is. Mercury reveals that, thinking that Salem is trying to create a new world, but Salem herself has never said anything creating such a world and it is likely that Mercury is only assuming that’s what she wants and is doing. Looking back, she has done that before. She told the god of darkness her plight with Ozma all the while concealing her earlier conversation with the god of light and nearly had been come to blows with each other. -Invasion of Atlas _“It will be just like Beacon all over again!”_ Oh, Penny… She had no idea… and in more ways than one. Ironwood was wrong. He had abandoned Mantle, believing it to be the weak point when in fact Salem could have attacked Atlas directly at any point regardless and simply waited for the best way to do that (I mean, seriously, Harriet! It’s right there! (Hand gestures)). So Salem’s words came true. _”Time has not been on your side, James. It has also been on mine.”_ And now the invasion begins, with the Grimm first breaching the light shields, an illustration of the strength and weakness of humanity. Everything connects and is strong. The CCT, Penny’s swords, Atlas’ defense. But when one or two of them have been taken out, and the whole defense falls. Also, Salem’s words rings out… (She has really great quotes) _”When banded together, united by a common enemy, they are a noticeable threat. But divided them, place doubt into their mind, and any semblance of power they once had will wash away.”_ And when the Grimm came out, the words of Adam popped in my head. _”Bring them to their knees!”_

Seeing the Greed power come up as a semblance was cool - we've already got Neo with Envy's chameleon power and Maria's "reflexes" thare are basically Wrath's Ultimate Eye. Given the way we've seen Cinder's Grimm arm extend in past fights and her overall character design, she's sort of a pseudo-Lust, and then we have Harriet who fights with her fists and super speed like Sloth. So yeah, we're really only missing Gluttony and Pride at this point, though I'd bet on both of those powers being tied to Grimm and not semblances.

It is important to remember, as we saw back in V6C3 when Ozma first enters the body of his first incarnation, the Grimm are a problem for people whether or not Salem is controlling them, so having people who are trained to fight them off is good a good thing.

Arryn, here’s your favorite coffee. Also after this episode I feel just slightly for Cinder, but she ultimately made a choice to not continue training and take the huntress exam. I do admit that she has a lot of raw talent. Casey’s song during the working montage reminds me of a similar song, but I don’t remember where. The fight with her mentor; I felt for both of them. It hurts to be forced to fight someone you love and/ or care about. Also Mercury is just trading one cage for another. Oscar and Ozpin coming to the same conclusion for a plan was brilliant. For the record, I’m really starting to hate Harriet.

I loved getting Cinder's backstory, they did an good job explaining how she ended up on the path she took without justifying her choices. Also to see the way Salem masterfully manipulates Cinder and the others just keeps adding layers to why she is such a threat. as for the games stuff I would say long formats, they work well and if the viewer needs to take a break they can pause and come back.

Dunno, felt a bit cheap to me. I can buy the child slavery, even the shock collar. But as usual they cranked the boo-hiss villainy up to 11. For eg, the stepsisters wouldn't mess up the floor that much, not because they can't be that evil but because it interferes with business. Emerald or Cinder Who's the most dependent? All Cinder wants is power. All Emerald wants is love. Neither can have what they want because they're trapped in cages that are in no small part of their own making. Cinder is hell bent on the idea she needs to follow Salem to attain the power she desires, but will never have the freedom to use it as she wishes, and therefore she is powerless. Emerald is hell bent on wanting Cinder to be the one to show her love, but due to Cinder's upbringing it's nearly impossible to get close enough to have that love she wants so much. Despite that, she refuses to go to anyone else because I think she can see very clearly what kind of life Cinder has lived. What does it say about them that the sociopathic son of a serial killer has his head on straighter than the both of them?

The implication with Ozma seems to be that whoever is in control feels the pain, while it's at least subdued for the person in the backseat. Hypothetically, Oz could take the torture, and give Oscar control back once at least the worst of the pain has passed, so he doesn't have to feel it.

I am disappointed in the huntsman. I mean, he doesn't know that they found the weapon he gave Cinder and went to punish her (probally worse than they ever have), but what about compassion and mercy? He knows what she's dealt with. Mercury won't step in for Oscar because he was forced to fight and win, so he is more "fight for yourself" than anything. Add in his new promotion, orders from Salem, and knowing that Ozpin is Oscar, he doesn't have the emotional connection of seeing a kid get beat up. He sees the enemy getting beat up. Cinder makes perfect sense. I don't know what people expected for her, but it's the same as the rest of the backstories also. And her constant BURNING anger fits her character very well too. I don't think Salem will kill Cinder, she's her vessel for the maiden powers, but I don't think she plans to give it to her all at once. It's keeping her dependant that she can't get the powers other than through Salem alone.

Salem isn't going to kill off Cinder until she's got the Beacon vault unlocked and claimed the Relic of Choice, because if the maiden power passes to someone random it could take Salem years to find it again. It's only after she gets that relic that Cinder is disposable. Which might add an extra edge to her questioning Oscar so that she can claim the Beacon relic the instant she's done in Atlas.

For stream VOD uploads, I personally like one chonky, full length video, over chopping it up into small pieces. I'd also be into edited VODs, but that sounds like so much extra work that I wouldn't want to ask for it if you didn't really want to do a bunch of extra editing for some reason. Also for RWBY, I like that your videos have been going long. The discussion part is nice, so don't worry about trying to cut that short!

I like the Cinder backstory, but I believe they could have handled it better. I wish they gave us a taste of her backstory throughout volumes 4, 5, & 6 and then gave us this flashback. Because right now the flashback feel like one big info dump.
