@@twinodoom I believe he's a Panther faunus. His name comes from Bageera from The Jungle Book, Bageera being the name of the Panther who helps Mowgli. Sienna Khan, the previous leader of White Fang (as another example) and a tiger faunus, was likely named after Shere Khan the tiger. The theme is rather obvious after that. Actually, White Fang was probably named after the book by Jack London of the same name by the creators of RWBY. There's almost always a clear origin for names in the show. Hope that helps 🙂

Blue eyes are a recessive gene that is believed to come from an unique ancestor, they were hunted by some cultures that believed that blue eyes were werewolves, look how much they had spread now, as stigma towards faunus disappear in Remnant these relationships are slowly going to become more and more common which will result in a bigger faunus population, resulting in more human-faunus couples an so on, it will probably take hundreds of years but can definitely happen.

Personally, I think Humans and Faunus are the same species. They are completely genetically compatible, which means they produce fertile offspring, which can only happen with the same species. I personally believe either Salem created the new generation of Humans and Faunus, some just looked different from others. My other idea is Faunus traits are the result of a genetic mutation which was isolated over time and is passed on. Overall, Faunus are human, just with a little more. Also note that most Faunus typically have the ability to see in the dark as well as some heightened abilities, such as Blakes extra ears giving her better hearing. I think the tradeoff is being more sensitive to loud noises or bright light.

I still want to hear about team CFVY. Admittedly, I get it. Team RWBY is awesome. But team CFVY seems amazing and I want to see that as well and have them. become characters again. Also, the last part from Qrow about tipping points. It helps me sympathize with the White Fang, their message and goal, but the ends do not justify the means in this case.

The Remnants Of Life It’s hard to actually sympathize with the White Fang because the racism element is rarely shown or explored. The only time it was is when Weiss was still racist but by the end of Volume 1 she stopped being racist and that was really the only time when the show explored it further in way of showing this. The racism element is basically delegated to background dialogue and that’s honestly sad because they could’ve redeemed this plot line in a number of ways.

I really hope that they don't mess up sun character or only use him for stupid ship baiting with Blake, and make it like a love triangle with Blake, Sun, and Yang when their is no need for it when they go to vacuo. Even though I believe that Blake and Sun had good chemistry, I don't want to see the fandom arguing about which ship is gonna happen and become cannon, they need to focus more on the plot than romantic character relationship every time a character meet a person that they had a crush or like as a friend as a big deal when it's not like that Adam disaster. If they wan't one of the character to date each other, I hope that they don't rush it and make it more force like Ren and Nora with that relationship 😔. I do hope that Blake and Sun do end up with each other but if it doesn't happen I'm going to be ok with it and not harras any about their other ship. All I'm saying is that we don't need anymore ship wars because they are not fun and it will divide us more and more because of you guys.

So, it is confirmed in this video that humans and Faunus are the same species; two organisms that can produce fertile offspring. Or at the most, two very closely related species, like Homo sapiens and Homo neanderthalensis. I'm also wondering how Faunus are still the minority in Remnant, if offspring between mixed unions are always Faunus; are mixed relationships rare for that reason, a holdover from older prejudices? I mean, we haven't seen a confirmed example of a human/Faunus relationship yet (unless there's one in one of the other source materials?).

DoctorWortspieler Probably when Qrow said how humans would run them out of town and a mob would kill them means that humans played a role in keeping their populations low. Even though they are technically the same species the differences are still there and humanity doesn’t want to be grouped up with them (not all humans but enough) so most likely they did what they could to get rid of them. That and Menagerie was basically used as a precursor to the Faunus war since it was like penal colony in a way, where humans tried to force the Faunus populations in one hostile landmass. So probably Menagerie has the greater Faunus population on their planet. Vacou being more accepting maybe has the second largest? Who knows. This is where it gets iffy cause their population in this world is most likely in the millions. Maybe tens of millions scattered around so that’s hard to say what’s a minority since your species are in a brink against literal creatures of darkness.

Maybe the sheer randomness of what kind of Faunus kid you could have is keeping their population low? Think about it. We build doorways tall enough so a person of around six feet can walk through them. We build tools for hands of a certain size. Clothing, too. All of that is made to a ubiquitous set of standards so a lot of people can benefit from them. Now consider the Faunus. Cat Faunus, Bull Faunus, Chameleon Faunus, Fish Faunus, Scorpion Faunus, etc. Whose to say that your kid won't be as petite as Ilia or as big as Ghira with no reason whatsoever. Whose to say that your kid won't be an entirely new species of Faunus? Each and every Faunus that is born would be a massive investment of resources unless you got lucky and had a kid who was a Faunus-type you were familiar with. We don't even need to consider what kind of limiter the Grimm pose in terms of population growth. And forget human-faunus relations for a second, because under the best of circumstances they would be strained. Are there different Faunus groups that only associate with other, similar Faunus? Panther Faunus with Cat Faunus, two Felines, with Ghira and Kali. Bull Faunus and Cat Faunus, both mammals, or Cat Faunus and Monkey Faunus, same, with Blake, Sun, and Adam. We still should not forget the most important thing about the Faunus, though: Monty created them as fetish fuel and nothing more.
