Between the benchmarking runs and me recording the B-roll for the RX 6800 I changed over from the ASRock X570 Steel Legend to the X570 Taichi . There was no difference in gaming performance between the Taichi and the Steel Legend but thought it worth while to note it here anyway. Also, since I am still using a Zen 2 CPU, at this time, advanced features like Smart Access Memory has not been enabled for my CPU / Mobo combo. hopefully that will change up in the new year but in case you are wondering why some of the RX 6800s other features were not touched on in this video, that's the reason. Hope everyone has a good end to 2020.

In my country 6800 is close to $800 now,3070 is around $650-700 While 6800xt cheapest was $900 while 3080 is $1000-1100

Sad but true. I have grabbed 6800 for 3500pln and compared do 3070 that is around 2900-3300 depending on version, it's a little overkill. Yet, I really believe in this piece of hardware that it will significantly beat 3070 and will be close to 3080 very soon with new drivers

I prefer 6800 overall but i rather play Cyberpunk or Control than Dirt 5 or Godfall.

FPS are not everything. DLSS, Ray Traycing, stable drivers, freesync+gsync are pulling heavy towards nVidia to be honest.

Thanks. I had a vega 56 rig but saw a 2070 for £250 a few months ago on gumtree and picked that up for a new rig as hoping DLSS becomes more widespread. Challenge will be what techniques the consoles have as that will feed back into AMD for PC but still think I got a bargain :)
@F7GOS3 жыл бұрын
That is a bargain considering 2060s are now up over £300 on eBay 👍

Trixx boost does the job very well. I have rx6800 and in cyberpunk, I have set upscaling resolution to 90% so there is barely any change in quality, yet I have over 70fps compared to 60fps when playing 1440p. So, AMD has it's own "dlss". IMO it's very good when you compare them both, and as I could see a lot of artifacts while using dlss (when I had rtx2060super), now with this technology, I can say it's really decent if someone is looking for additional frames for free. Also I'm playing on non OC, just set undervolt to 89% and temps dropped significantly to 69-73 on hotspot.

Great review as always. I'm waiting for an XT to become available. Hopefully will snag one in April/May. That's if the AIB price sorts out. Hopefully AMD will resolve it soon.

Yeah the validity of all these cards will hand on the AIB models prices in the new year. At MSRP they are great... £650+ not so much

@@F7GOS at this rate i may have to settle for a Series X. I know id be slightly disappointed but if im having to pay 800 quid, i may have to skip this card gen entirely.

I'd hold off a bit yet to see the prices. Hopefully by the time the 6700XT and 3060 launches stock will be more readily available.

Nice comparison! For me the 3070's 8GB of VRAM is a deal breaker at £500. Not sure why Nvidia didn't use 10GB of standard GDDR6 instead of more the costly GDDR6X.

Sure there will be super cards next year which will address it .. sadly for buyers of the initial batch 🤔

I am hoping I can get an RX 6800 by the end of next month. For me, the deciding factor is VRAM. This GPU will need to last until it can no longer support 1440p gaming, because the days of getting a new GPU each generation is gone. This is a function of price. Once I cross $300 for a computer part, it has to last for a much longer time.

amd cards are known to age well drivers wise so considering price is pretty much equal with a 3070 i'd say the 6800 it's a better buy rn
