70fps on 1080p very high settings with frame gen on higher tier 1440p cards in black myth wu Kong is crazy…that game needs to be locked up for trash optimization…unless I’m just tripping and that’s just the new normal with unreal engine 5? Because that’s crazy.

@ bruh if I have a 1440p card and have to play at 1080p to gain 10-20 frames with frame gen that’s stupid… and yes I can tell a difference between settings, the differences should be apparent especially with all of the things in the environment in that game.

I don't understand the fuss about it. If priced evenly, I'd go for the 4070. In most places the 7800 is cheaper and the way to go in terms of price to performance. Most people will be happy with either GPU.

You're probably wrong, my guess is 7800 needed a stronger cooler in order to meet the target temperature segment specified by AMD. Coolers aren't "rocket science" anymore, AMD isn't sitting on some super-secret magic cooling tech that Nvidia doesnt know about, nor vice versa.

shadowplay is to blame mate. if you take a look at the frametime graph its actually smooth indicating that gameplay is also smooth. meaning the recording software is the cause.

Maybe the reason rtx4070 stutter in RE4 might be vram limited, max settings on 1080p already use more than 10gb and in 4K it stutter a lot even tho the vram is show only 9-10gb

Most of my games do not use more than 6gb like Elden ring and Days gone I would hope a Ti version will be ok for me.I found a 4070ti for 200$,was wondering if it would be better than my R7 5800x 3060 12g,I get 90fps 1440p in those games.But use V sync because gun flare show lines across the screen.I would like it to be able to play the jedi survivor a little better than the 3060 but I need to see how much vram it will use.

RE4 doesn't have the same VRAM issues it had on launch. I'm pretty sure 12GB works out okay now. I remember watching a Digital Foundry retest a few months ago. But I'm not 100% sure.

@@cbx01 If the quality is reduced around the sides of the screen that would be the GAME itself doing that. It's common for VR games because you reduce texture quality for areas your eye isn't tracked as looking at, or you could have Variable Rate Shading reduce texture quality around edges for non-VR or something similar. NVidia isn't going to be doing that themselves. NVidia does use a little less VRAM but I think that's just down to their Texture Compression algorithm and that would apply to every texture. The quality of those textures is probably visually lossless.

Make sure you watch all the way through... the last 12 games are all faster for the 7800 xt and the first 3 games are faster with the 4070 (all single player games) and mostly at 1080p. Also both first person shooters (COD MS and CS2) which is the use case for many gamers. I wonder how Fortnite, The Finals or Apex Legends would perform.

7800XT clap 4070. 4070 get 2-3% faster in RT than 7800XT. 7800XT manual OC beat the world record of 4070 manual OC in raster. And beat the average 4070 super in raster. So the question is easy. When OCed. The 7800XT can outperform 4070 super raster and 4070 ray tracing for 10 to 50% money spared.

bro, it gets equal or higher without rt, and with DLSS quality on, that doesnt make the game look worse bc of hwo good it is nwow, u get an exrta 20 fps, and if u make the game look SLIGHTLY worse with balanced, its an extra 30-40, 4070 slams.

nah.. in RT 4070 is better, only there the 4070 is better otherwise no. But also 7800 xt consumes more power, 4070 uses an average of 175 w. But if you ask me, I would choose 7900 gre instead of both of them even instead of 4070 S.

@@perceptixn Why did you ignore my take on DLSS, because it is true, you factually cant tell the difference between DLSS quality and raw gameplay, and we all know how far FSR is in that department, looks horrible, and the gap is always about 5 fps between eachother or maximum 10, and DLSS will make that a 20 fps increase for the 4070 and balanced will make the game look slightly worse but give a 30-40 fps increase

nothing to fancy because your cpu will bottleneck newer gpu's. maybe some cheap amd rx 580 or gtx 970? but you should really start with some better cpu. Amds Am4 boards are really cheap right now. for example amd ryzen 5 5500 for around 80 bucks with a b450 mainboard for around 100 should do the job

this is actually a complex question. it depends on the game youre playing. but in most cases the visual fidelity difference going from high to ultra settings is barely noticeable. while FPS difference ranges from 10-30%

DLSS is often much better than FSR... It's hard to tell on KZbin, but in certain situations FSR looks like complete garbage, especially at lower resolutions. AMD was and still is a non-starter to me unless they get an AI upscaling solution that works great AND could get that into games ALREADY RELEASED that I play. It'll be pretty tough to get me convinced to go AMD for a GPU. (it was also POWER USAGE because my room gets warm at times)
