RX100 Mark III vs Iphone 13 Pro, Sony ZV-1. Hidden gem? Or outdated?

This is a video which features the Sony RX100 Mark III and my thoughts about it. Imo the Mark III takes excellent photos and has been my travel camera for many many years. But some things hold it back from becoming the best it can be. This video talks about some of its strengths and drawbacks and whether its current discounted price is worth a gander. It also features some side-by-side video comparisons of the Iphone 13 Pro and the Sony ZV-1.

I have the RX100 IV and only use it for stills. Quallity of images is superb.

5 is good too. I think if your focus is images, 3 is fine though. If your focus is video, 5 and up it gets a lot better.

I have the rx100 5a and the iPhone 13 Pro’s colors are better using videos. I don’t know why but it’s a huge difference. I carried my Sony recently on a few trips and barely pulled it out of my bag and just found it easier to use my phone. The Sony does take better pics though but not by much.

I agree!!! The line between Iphone 13 Pro and RX100 Mark 3 for video is night and day. But for pictures I do like RX100 but it's getting VERY close - so close to the point that I've been mainly using my Iphone 13 for travel these days.

Personally, if I’m gonna shoot video, it just makes sense to use my phone. I don’t think anyone buying this is getting it for its video quality. If video is your main focus, ZV-1 or iPhone is the better option.

can anybody tell me if this camera can film with the flash on, or does the flash only work for photos?

The Sony RX100 mkIII still kills it better than my iPhone 14 Pro Max.

I get such bad video with it. What settings do you have with it. I've since switched to Sony ZV-1 but I still have the RX Master 3 in my shelf.

Yeah it's really great for photos! I feel like I don't need to carry a heavy DSLR and can just use it instead.

ZV-1F? That camera doesn't have phase detection either the ZV-1 has faster autofocus and imo a better lens, the ZV-1F is for vlogging or something so the autofocus is also lacking on that camera as well
