Hey Michael love your videos. I’ve got a VF SV6 STORM with a leak from the thermostat housing just above the transmission behind the intake manifold. Mechanic ga e me a quote of over $1000 and transmission needs to be removed. I saw a few vids of people remove the intake manifold and to do its it’s a difficult job. Smart Holden engineers 😂😂😂 great money maker. Saw a thermostat housing gasket for $13 on eBay 😂😂😂😂😂

That’s excellent. Removing the plenum and manifold is easy. Sounds like you saved yourself a cool thousand.

Does prolong the life of the engine? Is that what it is supposed to do?

For almost $600 US dollars, that kit should be plug and play. I'd be mad if I had to do what you did with those different size hoses. I wonder if the 2023 models of this kit address this issue for the 2012 - 2015 LFX engine? Or, Plug the line off coming from the intake. Attach a hose on the fitting of each valve cover and run those hoses to the bottom of the car. Then you will never get oil in your intake.

I had one on my car but with a filter that was venting the fumes, although i loved the extra sound it made... I couldnt have the heater or air con on as it always brought the fumes inside the car :(
@mgunner692 жыл бұрын
Really? Are you sure you plumbed it in correctly? I believe the check valves are important to stop the fumes from flowing the wrong way.

Hey mate. If you google RXCatch cans you’ll find them. They’re from the US. They’re good with responding to any queries
@grantreid8583 Жыл бұрын
When you did your research you should have asked an engine reconditioner he would of told you that if you need a catch can then your rings are most likely stuffed. The he might have asked you are you using a washable filter ie K&N and if you said yes then he would have said that is why your rings are stuffed!
