Hi, we had 5 races today, on j70, i did well but just trying to see where i could improve. This vid and todays one should help me for next races. I feel its all about good start, then no mistakes.

Im not sure i liked that last gybe onto starboard, right on top of him, he had little chance to react !! But as its virtual then poss a good tactic ??

In the final downwind move under normal ISAF sailing rules the boat which gybed would be deemed to have not given the port boat time to keep clear and therefore the penalty would be awarded the other way around. However in the game moves like this are allowed and can seem somewhat unfair. Tune in next week when we will look at downwind and mark rounding in more detail to look at how we can avoid penalties like this and some interesting mark rounding situations! Thanks for watching.

It was a blatant R15 and R16.1 foul. R2 as well. That is the real problem with VR Inshore.

what does the circle with a number around the boat mean?

From Adam: This was filmed using a VIP account, one of the features of this is VRRS Display which is a rules display, it allows you to have in real time the rule that is at stake in situations of proximity with your competitors. So the circle will usually be accompanied with a rule number.

Why am I watching this if I’m rubbish at this in real life.... It reminds me of the pain of Langstone Harbour Race Weekend, but the bonus is you can’t hear the shouty husbands and wives in the perennial RS400 class (only a personal observation...) You might as well be telling me the intricacies of tasting different types of cheese

That last gybe to starboard was mean Ruins their race and it is completely outside of their control. Worst feeling ever when it happens to you.

I know how the game works and how it differs to real life, I'm just saying it is a bit mean, even though it is technically legal
